got my renewal through at 530ish with 4 year ncb on my 182 turbo
oh and all the comments about jumping from a 1.2 to 182 being silly get a life.lol. The 182s are quick, but they are not exactly dangerously quick.
I had H+Rs and set them up myself, was a huge improvement over standard. Havent heard any bad things about H+R except the odd leaking damper.
Heard loads of bad things about GAZ though. They can go for as little as £150 on ebay due to the reputation, I would try them if the price was right.
Will check if it closes on boost. Also read that if the turbo produces boost at idle and air is leaving the BOV instead of being sucked in then it could be normal.
Been reading a few articles and it looks like the blow off valve should be closed at idle or cruise conditions, but mine is always open at idle....
Can anyone confirm if it should be closed?
Engine rebuild will cost around £1000. I guess another £500 ontop for all the other labour involved.
Turbo £1k
Mapping £400
Chargecooler or intercooler and plumbing £1k
Pistons and rods £900
Manifold £300
Fuel pump regulator, rail and lines £200
Injectors £400
Blow off valve and pipes £300
MAP...
I cant say anything defamatory. But my turbo is falling apart and my engine has been rebuilt..
Ktec are fixing it for me, go to ktec and spend a little more money.
I thought that as i was constantly leaking boost and the turbo wouldnt get upto max boost quickly that I would be slightly down on power lower in the rev range.
I was thinking of blanking mine off to see if idling would improve.
edit : double posting ftl....
Steve, have you had problems with your turbo wastegate leaking? Mine has just been found to be not sealing correctly I think this is why I have been down on power as boost doesnt rise too quickly.
Well if it's not gonna be huge gains I could spend the cash elsewhere. It's just easy to do it when the turbos out.
I am thinking now, a remap would be better value for money.
Need a quick decision as it will probably be done tomorrow or next few days.
Around £160+VAT for ceramic coating the turbo.
I have been told there are no draw backs, but is it worth me doing on the 182?
I've been quoted around 400 for the remap and omex or similar will cost me over a grand i guess once its properly mapped.
omex will be on my wish list.lol.
bbpt used henk from fast chip.
Paul at rstuning has offered to completely redo the map on my car because it's pants.
I am wondering about omex though, as I could have a go myself
