ive got the ik and silicone hose. sounds good and seems to have made a little difference. think you only get the high idle on normal 172s not the cups.
the main differences between the 80bhp and the 100bhp is fuel injection pressures,boost pressures and the ecu mapping will be slightly different. having a chip will possibly bring the bhp up to the 100bhp so swapping bits of the 100bhp model wont gain you anything above what the chip has already...
it uses the speedo cable sensor to pick up the idle just as your about to stop to prevent the engine stalling. eg-if you were on the brakes at the time etc then there is the chance the engine could stall.
yes had that a few times where the heatsheilds missing and caused the outer cable casing to melt around the centre cable causing them to seize or snap.
it is there to direct air through the rad but if your engine temps appear ok then just keep an eye on it. if you notice the temp getting abnormally high or erractic etc then put it back on.
the obd memory has logged an emission fault now and will store it until it is erased or the fault goes but it wont as there is no cat anymore. you need to get the fault erased by a renault dealer and then leave the second sensor disconnected.

the turbo makes more of a whineing noise if the bearings go and if they were that bad the turbo would collaspe anyway and youd know about that. i would defo take it back as its probably something theyve left loose.
