My indicators don't need to be on for it to happen. I'm sure my car went into GDI for a 36k service recently and mark the mechanic there drove it onto the ramp and I even heard a slight clicking noise from outside the car as he turned the wheel. I think he also heard it from inside the car.
Affecting the resale value yes but you have to remember you purchased it a lot cheaper than a straight one in the first place - so it more or less depreciates roughly the same.
If I wanted a car bad enough i'd definately consider CAT C or CAT D. CAT C requires a check by vosa. Cat D does not...
I don't see why people like the 172 exclusives? I hate the colour!
I like black 172 mk2 ph1's, yellow or blue. Silver is just way too common.
172 mk2 ph1 cambelt requires changing at 5 years or 72k miles (whichever comes sooner) but most people replace them a lot sooner than this and I...
You said you want something quicker though.... which the 172 mk1 offers over the RSI. So your still getting the looks you like with the mk2 ph1 shape but with the extra performance.
Seems like your pretty dedicated to the mk2 ph1 shapes lol having your old 1.2 and rsi. May as well get a 172...
Noisy gearboxes, fred told me they were out of a renault traffic van????
Mine started to get harder to put into first gear and that had done around 36k when I sold it. May have just been my car but i'm sure i've heard the same problem with other mk1 v6's.
If you drive it hard, they can eat...
Do you need more than 2 seats, do you use your boot a lot for shopping and heavier goods which would not fit in the vee?
If you wanted to go for a vee for trackday i'd definately go for the 255 as it handles better. I didn't particularly like the handling in my mk1 v6 230
I used to average around 24mpg in my vee when I had mine.
If your looking at an mk1 v6 also, most are around 4-5 years old now and will require the cambelt changing. This is a costly job if it hasn't already been done.
meg 225 mate.
Has the car got to be practical? If so forget the v6.
The v6 i used to have is not much quicker than a 172 mk1 anyway. To be honest neither is the v6 255 either. Both cars look quicker than they really are.
They do look and sound good though.
Does it have to be rare? Is...
panel filters all the way, std airbox is good.
ITG or K&N probably.
People are occasionally selling panel filters 2nd hand on here, give them a good clean and as good as new. I paid £20 delivered for an ITG panel filter.
You'll also NEVER get back the money you put into it. I've done it and learnt my lesson and seriously, it's such a waste of money to chuck maybe £6k at a car.
Out of curiosity are you going to be informing your insurance company you are transplanting a 1.8T engine into your clio at the age of 18? Have you thought about your insurance premium? I'd be suprised if they would even insure you at all.
You do realise the conversion is not simple and will...
So where does the bigger nut go? That goes under the bonnet and bolts down to the rubber mount in there?
£34 for that rubber mount, jesus, i need 2 of them as well. Might ask neil at the renault breakers if he can source them in his endless mess of parts.
