Yep that's right, I'm on Sportline 1's or 4100 as they are now called.
If I was racing, where every little helps. I would have pushed that bit extra for the 5100s. But for what I wanted them for, track day fun, the 4100 are more than sufficient for me, and they save a few pound coins too.
I...
If you can afford them. Get them.
I held out buying some for so long. Thinking I could make do with just cup shocks and springs. Eventually forked out and I just wish I had done sooner. Such a great coilover kit.
My car lives outside all year too. As Tom does, I try to clean mine every now...
How did you do such a good job on the wheels!?!? Without any paint running or sagging. I seriously need to change my technique I think.
Did you use primer?
Spray can I take it or a proper gun?
1) High spec forged N/A K20 engine
2) Sequential box with a LSD.
3) Alcon or AP calipers all round.
4) Full respray inside and out.
5) Full strip down and refurb everything.
6) Nice collection of top spec wheels and tyres
7) Ridiculously priced coilovers
Dunlop Direzza is a great tyre apparently. I've heard it's noticeably better than 888s. It's what a lot of the race car guys use.
So would be a step up from A048s. I'd definitely be going for the Direzzas over these!
Can't help you on the slicks.
But you could try a better tyre for the dry, like the Direzzas. Get some fresh 888s as intermediates. And something like Toyo R1R or those Rainsports for wets.
You seem to like to blow things out of proportion.
Not once did I imply that you would crash and burn. So what's laughable is you even mentioning that. Pretty childish to be honest.
All I said was, you should buy the best tyres you can afford. That is STILL the case. That doesn't mean you...
No because that would be more dangerous. Restricts your vision and hearing to some extent!
Nothing to do with the comparison of putting premium or budget tyres on your car though, so absolutely no idea why you've piped up like that!
ALWAYS buy the best tyres you can afford.
They are the only contact patch to the road.
Really don't understand when people put s**t brands or cheap budgets on a reasonably fast car.
OP, if you are really struggling for grip, then go for a good branded tyre. Especially important in this...
Of course they will.
The bolt spacing and centre bore is the same.
The only difference is they will stick out a bit further because of the lower offset.
Nice purchase. Desperately needs a cup spoiler and some Turinis though.
What engine mods has it got to be running that power? That's upgraded cams, RS2 manifold territory.
How comes you were able to get it back?
Seems mental that the previous owner took it off you, spunked some money on it, then sold it back to you lol!!
Lovely car though.
