Cheers guys, I will not worry about it, got another long drive this weekend so Ill see what happens...
Chris, I dont need telling, I just need the money :) and a way to be able to get it onto my drive, the slope is just okay with the 172 :(
Ok, driving back from Stafford yesterday my SERV light was on contant, I assumed it was just a warning to say my car is due a service (it isnt, was service 6 months / 6K miles ago)
Reading the handbook afterwards it says "If it lights up when the vehicle is being driven, it is advisable to stop...
The only thing I know about the underbody sealant is that this is apparently one of the differences between imports and cars from renault uk, but youre probably going to say you got yours direct from renault uk and blow this out of the water :)
Yep, as Mike said its for emissions. The mk1 doesnt do this as when that car was released the emissions only had to be tested when the car was running and cat nice and warm, since then new emissions are tested from cold hence the limiting of revs and lumpy running.
Ive heard there is an ECU...
I can understand why people are pissed about this. But then again I can understand Renault too. Sure, you dont want to buy a brand new car that is already out-of-date and Renault need to sell those out-of-date cars before the new one comes. Thus is life.
I need to call Renault to find out which dealers have a new V6 as Im looking to arrange a test drive. My local dealer isnt useful as im away from london the next few weekends.
Thanks, T
I was under the understanding that these could be purchased new if required. Obvioulsy no racing history but no accidents either. Think they come in white, I know palmersport have bought quite a few.
Im going to wait until next year before I actively contact renault about a new v6, at least by then they might be able to tell me delivery times that are not make believe. plus it gives me the time to save up the money to buy one or change my mind.
But the 2003 model has supposably died and no-one has had these "personalisation" options. bit odd to bring them out for a car theyve stopped producing ??
No, as that is built correctly, the twin exit i saw was a couple of tiny pipes that popped out the bottom of a standard 172 bumber with half-circles cut away - real diy job.
Although I do think that Renault want all their Sport range to have twin exhausts.
I really hope it isnt that Clio 180 that everyone has been talking about, that would be a real shame a stupid marketing. Looked pretty bad with those twin exhausts too, real sticky tape job.
