    R32 update

I've never 'raced' one, been on a track day with one, or driven one - what are they like pace/handling/enjoyment wise? Used to have a golf & always secretly wanted this shape R32 but hear mixed opinions? What sort of output do they deliver standard/lightly tinkered?

    Returning to the Clio fold...

Nope I think your thinking ahead, something a lot of people don't do, and acting upon it - even less people do that! In a few months time you'll be financially sound, get a mortage under you belt, and you never know 3 years down the line you could line yourself up with another performance car.

I've just broken down and it sounded expensive

Not bent, fallen off. Have heard of it happening before but I have never personally seen it. Cambelt at first glance seems totally fine.

I've just broken down and it sounded expensive

Yeah we can break it down, give you a box of good parts and some approximate values.

I've just broken down and it sounded expensive

Engine is on its way out of the car :) It's dropped an intake valve, so a bit of a mess inside!

    Timing Belt, oh bugger!

It depends entirely on what you can get an engine for, and if you would rather buy a second hand block & service it out of the car (clutch, cambelt, entire, aux setup, poss water pump) to make it future proof, or just take the time to repair the engine you have now. First step will realistically...

    Cheap 182 (With Problems)

That's currently a good buy. Subframe is over £500.00 new IIRC correctly, however they can be had for a lot less from a car being broken.
  15. Tom@JMS

    STEERING PUMP?

As above just to clarify the cambelt tensioner was incorrectly fitted causing the irregular rattling, and the aux belt was not seated properly (outer edge hanging off the edge of the pulley).

    Removing rear seats

Impact gun, then up,down,up,down,up,down over and over again even if it's only a tiny movement at first. Then with regular lashings of WD40 or Quantum lube it will come out easy peasy. Don't however hang of the end of a lever bar as you'll round everything lol! If you've properly mashed the...

car sounds like an old scooby HELP!?

Sounds like lambda or any of the ignition components, however before aimlessly slinging parts at the car get it on diagnostics to see if there are any clear fault codes.
  18. Tom@JMS

How crap is your traction control?

It dips the power as you loose traction transferring weight off the lone rear wheel putting you into a hairy oversteer moment.

    New Cambelt Problem

There is one of these threads a day at the moment :( I'd bet as above the timing is wrong - there is also a good chance a few other bits and bobs may have not been done properly. As usual you've got no real choice but to get it looked at by someone who knows. + I should hope it doesn't rev to...
