No bother. You cut about Stirling a lot? Sure I've seen your car about, and at the old Rainbow Slides car park. My sister's boyfriend cuts about up there in a silver Focus.

    50mm lens?

In terms of it being restrictive yes, but you can use that as a way to improve your photography by moving around to get a bteer perspective, teaches you to move around. Good for just about anything I think really, portraits, indoors etc. And good bokeh effect. Quite fancy one next too.

    Detailing World Is Evil

I havent spent anything in ages, not wanting to look at detailing sites the now as I know I'll just buy stuff I dont need. Had to refrain from buying a machine polisher off I4D wee while ago because I knew it would get used once in a blue moon, but just wanted to have one for the sake of it.

    Photoediting

Also free editing software on the net such as Paint.NET and Gimp2, good but perhaps not as good as PS. Cant say I've used it PS though so cant make a fair comparison. I mostly just tweak sharpness, contrast, colour atm. Soon to be getting CS4 and Lightroom 2.

    Camera For The Missus

+1 Or Canon 450D. Think the 500D is within budget but also has HD video recording and HD, but heard AF during video recording is pap or something like that. You say you dont want to be carrying lenses around a lot so also consider a bridge camera? Cross betwen P&S and DSLR, but doesnt...
