I would use fibreglass to bridge the hole from the rear and then skim the front with filler. Other wise tthe filler will just crack as it will have no support. Thats how i did my civic bumper worked a treat.
check the ABS ring isnt full of crap, my CV boot split, filled the ring up and the sensor always thought the wheels were locking, new boot and a good clean it works fine.

Tried changing the rear pads last night, well looked at it for 10 mins then went to the pub lol.
How do you go about removing the slide plate at the bottom to renew the pads, i cant slide the plate out because the bolt (17mm) holiding the assembly on is in the way, and i cant get the bolt out...
If its the passenger side you dont even have to remove the bumper, i took the passanger front wheel and inner arch off and you can get to it - took less than 15 mins to do the lot. Not sure if its the same on the drivers side - hvent looked

I believe bendicks are the standard fitted, i have gone for the textar.
Replacing the rear discs and pads on the 172, As far as im aware the bearings are fine (no noise or play in the wheel). Will it be ok to just replace the discs or shoud i be looking at replacing the whole assembly, i.e the discs with bearings etc.

My rear discs and Pads are Knacked so time to upgrade, Gonna fit standard discs to the rear, and the fronts are standard discs at the mo - New when i bought the car 4500 miles ago.
What pads do you reccomend, I liked the ebc greenstuff on my rover, so i want to stick with ebc. butshould i use...
