My Clio flying shot was also on the Swinton stage but at "Little Swinton" rather than the Mill crossroads. Some good jumps just down from the Mill as well!

Yes, passed it heading from Preston to Duns, just before the 90L over bridge, I was heading the other way.

The tv programme is well worth watching - it's got a clip of the Clio going over Swinton crossroads, as the car bounces across the junction the back kicks up in the air and the car drives on it's nose, fantastic action!

oh dear, I've spoken to the co-driver of the blue Impreza, when they landed the driver suffered a compressed bone in his spine, and a hydraulic pipe came loose and started dripping on the exhaust which then filled the car with smoke and then caused the gearbox to stop working :dapprove:

Have a run out to Traws on Saturday instead ;) Road rallies generally start at 11pm, less traffic on the roads then so safer!

The V6 was at racecourse in Kelso (rally HQ) parked near the entrance, I didn't see it on the stages, maybe didn't want to get it dirty! I saw a Trophy when I was doing my recce of stages, can't remember the reg. It was on TV Monday night (I didn't realise it had gone past midnight :o ) but...

Black 172 with a "Media" sticker in window. I was on the tv report tonight a few times, car was on (just) a couple of times too! Was it the blue V6 that was parked at the racecourse you saw? It looked nice, far too clean to be at a rally though.

the Clio wasn't highest over the jump... I think that honour goes to this Impreza :D

lol I went to Duns this weekend! Jim Clark rally, 3 days of action, about 2000 pics oops next weekend: Trawsfyyndd in N.Wales during the day and a road rally in Cumbria at night... and I bet I still don't get "spotted" :o the Jim Clark rally is on telly tomorrow, my Clio might be on it as...

Sorry lol The car was actually clean at the start of the journey... but when you're in a North Wales forest the night before a rally well you've got to have a play haven't you?!! Just so everyone knows I cleaned and waxed the 172 tonight :D ...unfortunately at the weekend it's getting...

I agree! I see the threads "I spent 8 hours cleaning my car" and wonder "why didn't you spend 8 hours driving it instead!"

I just saw the timeline thing, looks good. The 197 in the "action" photo looks a lot lower than the other pics I've seen of it.

I've been driving round and round Warrington waiting for someone to spot me... no luck yet though :( :o To be fair to you the built in flash on all cameras is pretty much useless for outdoor pics, they're ok indoors where the light can bounce round the walls etc . I did a nice night lanes...

I'll have to come along to one of these night runs with the flash I use for road rally photography ;)

Hello, can't see this posted elsewhere so will post it here... the August edition of Top Gear mag has a cd with it called "Pure Va Va Voom" about the 197. Dunno whats is on it yet but presumably some kind of promo blurb video thing.

probably a bit late now as the rally finished about 90 minutes ago lol but it was in North Lancs, the lanes around Trough of Bowland etc. And very good it was too :D

Yeah they are expensive but it'll pay for itself! Just had a look at the entry for the rally and there's a Clio and an Alpine GTA on it so I'll post a couple of pics tomorrow :)

Nikon D200, I'm photographing a road rally tomorrow night so I thought I'd better check it worked ok :o
