Had something similar happen to me with my first car about 10 years ago (god that's a long time). The garage put a jack under the engine to take some of the weight away from the other mounts (don't know if you need to do this for a clio, I don't know if the gear box mount is weight bearing...

Has the engine moved out of alignment, since the mount went??
