I'm in the same boat as you. Works fine in the middle, but I could get better signal if I use the ext ant.
If you get one let me know how it works out. Don't want to buy one if its no better.

But yes sadly in this world things like these stripes will draw more attention to the car. At the end of the day though, if its going to get damaged, its going to get damaged.
Highly rec' these. I've got one, but mine actually works throught the windscreen without an ext aerial. Signal strength can be improved if you get it to lock on before you put it in the car.
Saying that the strength is never at full. But works non the less.

They are definitly a quick job. Got mine done by Fred. Took him about 4 minutes per spring. Front ones take the longest (if your going to lower the rear, you'll have to do the front too).
I believe there are no bolts to remove for the rear springs.
Look at the DSC range on Sony.
I've had a couple and currently use DSC 120. Really good quality and excellent battery.

Had mine fail on my 182. Watched to mechanic change it, it isn't hard at all.
