I've got the K-Tec Supersport recessed exhaust and even that isn't very loud when you're cruising along at low speeds (i.e; through town). Gets a bit noisy at high speeds (above 60mph) but you just get used to it - it's not that intrusive. If I drive with my foot to the floor it's VERY loud...
There are obvious flaws that would prevent all plugs from becoming like that, but it's designed more for travel applications to save space than it is for day to day use. Therefore, the pivot mechanism probably wouldn't wear out too quickly in most cases and the risk of shocks would be minimal if...
A+ is outdated IMO. Not really worth much.
The Network+ does teach you some useful stuff, but I'd agree with doing the CCNA instead. Much more useful and in-depth, and the stuff you learn is invaluable. It also looks much better on a CV.
I really need to start swotting up in preparation for my...
You should be able to set up 2 VLAN's on it and assign each each of the wireless adapters to one of them.
You should be able to configure the DHCP server on the router and bind it to one of the VLAN's and configure the other VLAN to not use DHCP. If your internal server is connected to one of...
Couldn't agree more with the comments about the Pugs.
I've been a Pug man all my life until I got the 172.
Had a 106 GTi which I think is nearly as quick as the Clio in a straight line, but I think would be faster around the twisties if both cars were driven back to back by the same person...
ACL's and subnetting I found p'iss easy. Once you have a solid understanding of subnetting in general, VLSM's and CIDR shouldn't be too difficult to get your head around either.
I didn't learn much about STP compared some of the other layer 2 protocols, and ended up struggling to answer the...
It'll never be as good quality as it appears on your PC anyway. It strips and compresses the data so that you see enough to work remotely on the computer, but not so much that your internet connection can't keep up with it.
Yes you can.
But the point is that it's such an awesome piece of kit and does everything I need it to do, while at the same time keeping the data safe from single and even multiple drive failure.
Plus the Drobo wastes a lot less disk space on overheads than traditional RAID methods (in most cases).
Get the latest graphics driver.
If it doesn't allow you to choose a widescreen resolution, just uninstall the graphics driver and delete all the driver files from your machine. The generic Windows display drivers even offer widescreen resolutions in XP SP2 and beyond so you should be able to get...
PowerISO is quite good.
I quite like CDBurnerXP for getting the simplicity vs functionality ratio just right. Despite the name, it works fine on Vista too, and it's only ~14MB download.
Tried using LogMeIn? If your college computer will allow you to install ActiveX controls you could set up a LogMeIn Free account and install the service on your home computer, then connect to your home computer via LogMeIn when at college, and browse the net on that.
Or if you're allowed to...
I had this same dilemma a while back...
Couldn't be arsed setting up a PC / server, so I brought a Drobo!
Drobo with 2 x 1TB hard disks and (currently) 2 x 160GB hard disks, DroboShare and a few DroboApps means it now behaves as a streaming media server, a BitTorrent client, an FTP server and...
I've got the MCSE: Security (Server 2003) and CCNA Security accreditations, and I'm en-route to the CCSP.
The MCSA/E is very useful if you're doing tech support, or managing a large Windows network. Even if you've got a lot of experience, you might still pick up a thing or two by studying the...
+1 TBH.
I can see a use for them in a business only environment where travelling / off-site work is required, but for personal use you might as well use your own mobile and get on a decent data tariff.
I don't think the cruise control actually uses any more petrol than the speed limiter does providing it's set to a speed and left alone, and you're not constantly adjusting it (i.e; motorways). I certainly don't notice a difference when I use it.
The speed limiter is a lot more useful though...
I've no idea what the previous owner used TBH. It was a woman though, so it could have been nail polish remover or some s**t for all I know.
It's not too much hassle to get them re-done really. I just don't want it to keep happening.
Whole car gets pressure washed to blast the loose crap off.
Then the whole car gets washed with ordinary Auto Glym bodywork shampoo and conditioner.
Then the car gets pressure washed again to wash all the newly loosened dirt and bubbles off it.
Alloys only ever get washed with ordinary car...
+1 on the pressure washing.
My car gets parked up outside my Mrs' house overnight quite regularly, and is always covered in tree sap, pollen, bird s**t etc in the morning.
Pressure washer gets the lot off. Just be careful not to pressure wash your wheels' centre caps if they're standard ones...
If you've got a credit card with a limit that's more than the value of the item you're buying, use the credit card to pay for it. Just about all transactions you make with a credit card are covered by the card issuer.
Then pay the money back straight away so you don't incur any interest or...
Firstly take the hard drive out of the caddy and plug it straight into a PC via IDE / SATA to see if it works or not. You'll also be able to tell if it spins up.
If that doesn't work and you can find an identical hard drive, swap the disk controllers over as mentioned above and try again.
If...
You can connect to shares on Windows servers directly from the Macs. You don't really need a Mac server as such. Just an added expense for what you want to do.
You won't have any issues connecting to shares if you set up the share permissions correctly and set the following in the local security...
Personally I think that looks really nice. Those alloys suit it nicely and it looks a fairly tidy car.
Mileage isn't really that much of an issue if it's been looked after properly IMO. Mine's done 69k now and feels quicker than ever. No problems with the engine to report.
My gearbox is fine...
