A lad in my street had a brand new mk2 UNO turbo in a dark red when I was at school used to think it looked cool. There was also a luminus green r5 turbo which was hideous. Lol I think the 205 is a better looking motor than the 309 hence more success.
Well you could say exactly the same about a 205 then moron. Your argument is poor hence the reason you had to make it personal to make yourself feel better. Go look in the mirror and tell yourself 'your the man'
Flol so your saying a standard r5 handles well? Give your head a shake they were terrible by any sort of sporting standards hence why all have updated suspension. And your points about reliability are even more so on an r5 as with all old turbos.
As for the the point of the thread it's a valid...
Yeah I saw that 1. A tad overpriced I'd say unless you absolutely have to have the lowest millage 1. Red isn't many peoples favourites either. The 2 on page 1 on pistonheads are better and cheaper.
Usual stuff is the rear beam and obviously headgasket and cambelt then ruuuust. Lol interior is cheap to buy, I prefer the black and red check to the grey.
yeah those cars mentioned had there followings but every1 was in agreement (car journalism wise) that the 205gti was the best. you ever driven a r5 or xr2? there dog turd. like i said earlier it was between the golf and 205.
yep headgaskets are common. i suggest you check the thermostat if hes tried to hide it. they cut the middle out of it to increase cooling so hides the high temp.
this ×10000. you dont even have to drive fast and they feel special. on motorways they are as smooth as silk and at 70mph are at 3k. the steering is mega direct and everything you do as a driver effects the car. try finding a faster gear change on any car, its literally as fast as your arm can move.
i think in 10 years time if i saw a mint 172cup id want it purely for the memories and that has nowhere near the pedigree of a 205. they were in group b ffs which is part of the appeal.
cool. a warning about 205 ownership though which you will see youself is that no matter how many parts you renew they still break. lol annoyingly so. which model ya go for, year, colour, interior?
yeah williams is not far off, same concept by different maker. didnt make the impact a 205 did though but i still rate them highly and would love to own 1.
You on about ravage? He's picking peoples guns up who he kills so he doesn't run out of bullets.
As for perks my standard class is lightweight pro hardened pro and marathon pro. I like to move around the map fast so best setup for me.
Again it's not a comparison on what you'd buy now. It's about how good they are in there time scales. Like Peugeot moved the game on in styling and performance/handling a lot. It was the top of the pile for a long time. In comparison has the 200 really moved things on that much and it will...
out of interest i just checked pistonheads and theres a couple of minter 205's on for 7k im talking time warp condition. would love a drive of 1 of those bad boys.
Sorry Roy I just found your approach unreasonable as I thought maybe you out of any1 could of understood and brought valid points to the argument
They were 21" iirc. Lol
i never doubted the 200's abilities anywhere. Tell me this driving at normal road speeds what would give you more satisfaction? I just find the 205 more alive and raw. No doubt a 200 can go round a track 20 seconds quicker that's not what the argument is about.
Well I owned 1 8 years ago so I can comment under your terms. For people who are interested in cars and actually driving them it is an interesting debate. Your not interested so why even bother posting? I don't post in your 'should I put 22's on my 300% rally car yo' because I don't give a s**t...
