As I understand it the Galileo "project" was originally proposed by Europe but is now supported by a wide variety if countries including China (who dropped their own system iirc).
You have to remember that 1080P (1920*1080 pixels) is a hell of a lot of pixels overall and in anything less that a 37" screen you'll be very hard pushed to spot any significant difference over 720P.
I'd go for a compromise and get the best 32" screen you can for your budget. There's nothing...
Sky's LLU service is provided using Easynet's network but don't forget Sky also offer a service over IPStream for those not covered by Easynet which is what the OP was refering to.

As you said AMD's were the cpu of choice for a few years, certainly for gamers anyway, but now the Intel C2D's (Dual and Quad) now lead the way for the time being atleast.
Price wise they're a bit more but the E2140's and E2160's are around the £50/£60...

The phoneline will be owned by BT but the data aspect of the SMPF (Shared Metallic Path Facility) will be tied into the LLU ISP's DSLAM at the echange rather than BT Wholesales. In layman's (your) terms it basically means the ISP has more control over the service they provide...
Joel if you have access to an LLU ISP then it's simply pointless considering everything else.
Take Jay above (and no offense obviously) but he's paying £18 for a capped 8mbps or less service and I'm paying the same for a completely uncapped 24mbps service..

2, They are not "vty" files.. It's simply a bunch of files that happens to start with the letters "vty".. vty standing for "Vitality" the group responsible for cracking this...
I can't recommend a "brand" of alarm but I'd just make sure you get some decent to fit it preferably a recommendation if possible.
I know mine cost £550 fitted (bell box, keypad, control unit, 5 sensors, 1 door sensor) but that was a family friend.
