Blue cup with white alloys and 182 stlylee stripes on the bonnet! Made me wish I'd found one in that colour rather than iceberg!! lol
Followed it from Town Centre, near Netto, over the railway! Looked tidy! :) Has a personal plate too.
Mine went. Got quotes ranging from 280 - 350! I was told they have to drop the rear axle. Took them about four hours. I'm still have handling problems but at least now its tracked properly. :-)
I've experienced this, and resolved it! Obviously it may not be the same for you...
I was going to shell out for a new ballast as mine were doing exactly the same thing, but before I spend £80+ i decided to whip the bumper off and swap the ballasts over to see if the problem followed the...
Hi Pal!
My plastic at the bottom of my windscreen isn't exactly flush, it's actually in two sections and all that's holding it in is a coulpe of clips either side, and obviously the wiper arms prevent it from coming up and away!
In regards to the rubber strip on the windscreen mines a little...
Right, first of all I'm sick and tired of this car! Lol
on my way to Bournemouth, a 150 mile trip my speedo dropped to 0, and the odometer stopped adding the mileage! (although it is still illuminated!)
I am confident enough to remove the dash and check connections but it is hard to find...
I'll probably whip the bumper off and have a look! Got a mate coming round later who's had a couple of RS's so I'll get his advice then! Much easier to describe when you can actually see it!! lol Failing that I'll take a pic tonight!
Dunno!! lol Beam pattern is off... Just had them re-levelled and stuff but it was like it before! Kinda hard to describe, the passenger side is quite linear with a concentration of light directly underneath the line of light... if that makes sense.
The drivers side is like an arrow head...
:S Forgive me for sounding like an idiot as I know 172's have projector lenses!
Is it possible to put a xenon bulb in upside down...? If so, would it effect the beam pattern?!
Thanks :-D
Hi all... AGAIN! lol
To summarise...
My Xenons were FAR to low, so I manually adjusted them.
Then, they were FAR to high... so I tried to lower them and it wouldn't move at all!
My car went to a Renault Specialist to change the rear axle bushes, and I asked them to look at the light...
Thanks again all, got the whole weekend off so I'll check for leaks. Failing that I'll buy some new shocks but I'm not going to be able to afford any til next month! Although I've seen coilover kits for like £250... So I'm thinking about that too! I'll post over the weekend to let you know what...
Lol thanks guys! I'll take a look to see if there are any leaks over the weekend, but it sounds like everyones pretty sure the problems i'm having are down to shocks?
Cheers Dunn. I'll do that when it stops raining!! I'll lett you know what I find. How much is it to replace these roughly? I assume it's not really a diy job?
Hey guys & girls!
I have an 02 172 and have been having handling problems sincei bought it. The steering isn't THAT bad anymore (it was all over the place) as I needed new rear axle bushes. However, it's still not great. I think it's just down to the cheap Tyres left on by thr last owner...
I did mine too!!! Trying to save £45, cost me £70!! Lol try usin this on the wiper arms, mine came off fine!!

Just put the "arms" underneath the wiper arm...
Yeah it's a stupid place for the bottle!! "if it ain't broke don't fix it!" lol
the linkage is only two bolts I think. It comes out fairly easy! Then the bottle is jus anoter two bolts and the pumps. My old one was black inside too, an apart from it emptying it's self over the drive faster than...
Hi Mate.
I had to change my bottle recently and yes, you have to remove EVERYTHING! It's quite easy as long as your wiper arms haven't seized on (like mine were!). I ended up using a ball joint remover which got the arms off in 5 minutes! Be careful not to try and pry the wipers off with a...
Hi all,
took my car to Specialized Renault Services in Nuneaton and asked them to check EVERYTHING. They found that the rear axle bushes had split. These have been replaced and I'm currently sat at Britannia Tyres getting the tracking redone.
This seems to have resolved MOST of the...
Hi again,
Right... My xenons (in my 2002 172) were pointing right at the floor, they were so bad that on A roads/ motorways I couldn't see where I was going without full beams.
So, I adjusted them up today with the adjuster on the back of the auto adjusters. I was surprised that I could...
Problem 90% solved, although I had been told by two of the four garages I've been to that they've checked the tyre pressure... they clearly hadn't!!
Front drivers side wheel was 25.5 psi, and....... get ready......... passenger side was 63.5 psi!!!!!!! It's almost completely removed the issues...
