One of my rear springs has gone and thought I'd look at some lowering springs (as these work out cheaper than two rear springs!!)
Anyone got Jamex springs on their car? Are they OK?

Have you actually swapped the ballasts over? If you leave the bulbs where they are, and swap the ballasts that'll test the ballast.
If the bulb works when the ballasts are swapped then it could be the starter on the rear. I changed this when mine went, and stuck a new set of bulbs in off ebay...

Creaks like mad now. Haha I'll order a pair of springs. Always best to change both sides perhaps rather than just the one. (although other spring looks in much better condition.)

Looks like the top part of the rear passenger side calliper is missing!

Hi guys I'll upload pics shortly. The pipe it's self doesn't appear to be damaged it is a plastic bar running over it from the front, to the back of the car. This bar is now touching the pipe and rubbing.
The rut was really nothing major at all, it was just like a dip in the road. Not a pot...

Went over a very subtle rut in the road whilst braking lightly ready to turn right and there was a crack, like a pane of glass cracking. Sound of a bit of debris and the guy behind flashing frantically.
There's now a rumbling from the rear and there is a squeak when going over...

My trolley jack is knackered. Gonna cost £50 for a decent one... I'll see if I can beg and borrow.
I'll also try GSF, I've heard of them.
Anyone know if Mintex pads and discs are any good?
I've not been able to get the wheel off and have a proper look yet. Although casting my mind back to the service history they're probably due... Luckily a friend of mine, also a member on here, has offered to donate some front discs since posting this :), being as he no longer has his 172...
I drive like a Grandma... mainly due to having clients in my car most of the day! lol
Give it the beans sometime but not enough to warp a disc... Sometimes pulls to the left a low speed braking but not all the time.

Gonna be a hard one to explain...
Basically brakes aren't as sharp as I know they should be... I know I need new fluid which is probably the main cause as discs and pads LOOK ok but I'm no mechanic so I could be completed wrong!!
Basically at low speed, light braking, it feels like...
I have a similar problem, chaging my plugs helped alot (although I see you've already done that!).
The only thing left to do in my engine bay is to get some new mounts, but I don't think that will stop it completely....
As above idle is crap on 1*2's from what I've heard, I'm just gonna learn...
I have a faulty sensor at the moment. First thing I'm going to do is check the connection to the dials by removing top half of dash and checking everythings plugged in ok!
If you have an early 172 like mine (2002) or a cup, then I beleive the speedo sensor is located on the top of the gear box...

I'm hoping manifolds and downpipe are separate...

Seems like a mega easy job to do! I imagine cleaning it involves sanding the metal contacts?
