I thought i'd trial fit the silver 172 wheels on today to get an idea of look..... Nope, not liking them so i'm gonna sell them or part ex for another set of 15" rims
When its cold and i fire it up its fine, within 5-10 mins and i say get to a T junction or roundabout to stop the revs decide whatever it wants to do, 1250,1500 or sometimes 2000rpm so i have to blip the throttle. At no time will it ever go back down to normal idle revs. When i was stuck in...
Cheers, i guess a backward step in performance and outright spec regarding buying a 'Cup' obviously more practical though
I've not really done much lately, last week i bought a second set of OZ F1 wheels which are silver. Hopefully after a wash they'll look ok, something different to black...
Haha cheers, actually thinking about it i could possibly fit 172 'CUP' badges to mine.
Clio Cup race rollcage
Clio Cup door handle spacers
Clio Cup alternator setup
No AC
No electric windows
Al i need are the Cup 'thinner spec' glass :D
There's something about it, i like the 172 cup... but then thinking if i sold the phs1 for decent money i could stretch to a 182 cup.
I couldn't compare my clio 172 to any other Clio model!
Rob there's no chance of OE interior going back in as all the brackets have been ground off and the cage is in the way.
Goodj: Cup = poor mans phs1.... interesting
I just really like them and for some strange reason i feel the need to probably own 1. I've always had a soft spot for them and think maybe i should get one.... But this would mean i'd have to sell my Clio 172... Maybe it's a mixture of being stupid, bored, just plain silly but i've been...
Was heading out from Thundersley along the A13 to the Dartford Bridge between half 6 and 7pm yesterday evening. I caught up with him and drove alongside then he turned off at Lakeside.
It had a private plate, i think it was B2 *** looked tidy
I dropped a C1J into a 19 16V Chamade for a laugh, stripped the interior out and fitted buckets, 180bhp an 180ft/lbs
Had a track based R5 with the same power, very reliable, gave a lot of cars including a Megane 225 a run for their money at FCS at Rockingham a few years ago. IIRC i took Mick...
Mapping is definitely my next step, it's all down to money. TDF is the place i'd like to take it to have it mapped. For what it's worth it's only run on Shell V Power and don't really use the Clio that much at the moment.
To me the breathing were the main things to get done, and knew a map...
Cheers, browsing different sites there's stories of Matter going out of business as far back as 2006, strange as the 197s have Matter rollcages fitted. I read a thread saying Heigo is run by the same person who ran Matter.
Anyway, Sam i believe it is part of the MSA. From what i've read it can...
I went over to North Weald airfield today to watch a friend take part in the 2011 ASEMIC Speed Championship. Basically i took the Clio along to have it scrutineered to see how it would fare and to see which catergory it could compete in.
They picked up on a couple of minor points that can...
A chap i know used to work for BB Tuning then set up his own business near Upminster. He changed my 172 gearbox and did the clutch at the same time within a day. Knows his Renaults and general all round good guy, PM me if you want his number
Thank you, i'm really pleased how it's come from literally a bare shell. 90% of what's on this car is either brand new or definitely no more than 3 years old. The only parts that are the oldest are the engine and gearbox which came out of my 2001 donor Clio 172
My hazard switch is from the early 172 and it slots into a rectangular opening. When fitted in the 172 it slides in and clips into place, so i did the same and cut a rectangular opening in the carbon fibre for the sitch the clip into. The same goes for the 12V cigarette lighter feed.
This...
Passenger side air vent, just blanked off with 1 or 1.5mm thick carbon fibre
Drivers side air vent with headlight adjuster and dash clock dimmer, the whole unit is used and covered with the same thin carbon fibre sheet
Centre vents taken out and replaced with carbon fibre, this space is used...
Yet again not much happening apart from this Sunday, the chap who prepped the Clio throughout the project holds a NAT B race licence and competes in sprinting. He's invited me over to North Weald to not only watch what goes on in sprinting but to also have the Clio scrutineered, the Clio is...
I think £50 is about right.
Yeah thats what it made with those mods, i don't know if that's a good thing or not TBH as it made 171bhp at Powerstation in Gloucester 3 years ago with a std engine bar an air filter! I take RR figures with a pinch of salt. As mentioned in my project thread maybe a...
Ok, so it's F1 and Le Mans speed :o

When running the foglight ducts on my Clio it would 'lift' at speeds over 75mph, i taped them up and it solved the problem. I was told it was air completely filling the inner arches at high speed, the last thing i needed running over 100mph at the Nurburgring.....
