Interesting. Mine sounds too loud for a bolt loose.

My VX220 was rolled and witten off with no witnesses - I have just had a payout ;) BTW.... which trackday insurance do people on here use? [one offs - not the included ones like greenlight, etc]

How did it happen?

It may sound like engine bay initially but if you really listen to it [like stay in a low gear and drive @ 6krpm] you will hear it underneath you.....

Is the noise quite loud?

Have a look on Demon Tweeks for Cobra Imola S bucket seats in the Kevlar composite. I also have the 5mm Alloy side mounts - not the normal 4mm steel ones ;)

Good advice on this thread. I have bought a Blueflame exhaust [Cat back] and will check to see if the heatshield is loose/close to anything also :) Its a horrendous noise! :(

Why does it need a new heatshield? surely it will be a new fastener?>

Is it like a crazy vibration noise coming from directly below you when accelerating hard above 4krpm? then if you drop a cog into high revs and let it decelerate it makes that noise too? I have it :( It sounds really bad.

So would the ring eye's be suitable?

I have spied some harnesses but they are clip in with eye bolts. Will they fit a Mk2 Ph2 172? I think they would fit all points except for the point on my Cobra subrame. Anyone know if they would be OK? Thanks Chris

Thanks. I thought it up after finishing off the VX... Loads of people were asking me loads of questions on how to do stuff etc.. So I though this would be informative for anyone else who is interested in changing/buying a Clio 172. I could never do it without this place though.

Ive had a few PM's off people who have had them removed by the big R. Are they an MOT failure? RE the noise - im sure it will be OK with a new exhaust. :)
