I wouldnt bother if i were u mate, i did it to my old clio an it ended up flaking and looking a mess about a month after i did it, luckily i wrote that car off so im back to a standard interior now lol.

U should sort that out quick mate if u aint done already. myne did the same thing, grease went everywhere, eventually the boot split and filled the inside with s**t an now the drive shaft is knackered!
That sounds like the drive shaft mate, mynes knakrd and im waiting to get it repaired but it makes a hell of a noise on full lock. like u said it sounds like summat is rubbing on the wheels. check the cv boot (the rubbber gaitor type thing) an see if thats got any cracks in it, if not undo it...

easiest way, theres no point faffin around any other way it took me literally bout 5 mins to tuck all 3 of me wires under the trim an its done! cant see em at all.
seein as u aint far, go liverpool way im sure ull find some dogy station in there thatll accidentally type the date in a month or two early. and try not to drive on the curb next time ;)
either under the carpet which is a bit of a pain in the arse or tuck em under the trim that runs along the passenger side footwell all the way to the back seats then under the back seats an into boot. jobs a gudden
