On some 172's I looked at some of the coloured trim round the door was all faded and tis was on 02 and 03 plates. It just looked like black pastic thats been sparayed and not finished properly. Whats the deal with this? My silver 172 is fine, nice and shiney. But i want to know why there are...

its very tight in there, I found that there is another air feed wih no pipe to cold air on mine it just exits out in to the engine bay. Like a big funnel.
