    I did see some ones that were "tunable" like changing engine etc (cant see on the website) at the gadget shop. Also, for the best fun I heard that doing a wall of death in a wok to be a killer.

    What is my mechanic on about!

    Have you noticed any problems with the steering ? Does the wheel feel loose ? Do you trust this mechanic (not trying to rip you off) ? Could always ask to see it if youre not sure but steering is what stops you crashing into things. BTW: Im no mechanic - far from it !

    Mk2 172 handling

    As Geoff said, a lot of people have said that the Continentals the car comes with are real crap and have no grip. For me (and Geoff) they seemed ok, were very slippy on the track when hot tho.

    Hes my stab in the dark. Do you know why the guy selling the car sold it for £9K, quite a good buy if the car was A1. Did you do a check to make sure the car hadnt been in an accident and repaired, as this could seriously affect the handling? Just a thought.

    Well I have a UK mk2 so if you tell me an easy way to check (without getting wet) with the car on the ground Ill go out and take a peek.

    Think R3OBC was on about the indicators (front and back in the light clusters) not the side. But I agree, they make such a different - one of the first things I did. (LOL - posted at the same time :))

    Also Forest, yours is a mk1, is Rhys a mk2 ? I think that explains why they are different. I think the mk2 has a single cat and the mk1 has double ? Or am I talking crap ?

    Civic Type R opinion

    When we went on the France trip we had a few runs against CTRs and it was pretty close. The CTR has a long 3rd gear which helps it in the runs but if the 172 got off first then it usually managed to stay ahead, and if the CTR got of first, it stayed ahead. Was very well matched. Jolly good fun !
