My mate who I bought the car off said that renault re-called the clio beacuse the bracket which bolts the cat to the manifold was touching the subframe when you accelarate hard, He said they grided a coulple of mm off the bottom of the backet - I'll try and get a photo put up (hard to explian!)...

I'll have to have a look at this, its going into the garage nxt week for a service so i'll get them to check it. how much is a dog bone mount?

most of the time when I accelerate hard there is a sound where the exhaust is touching the subframe and it vibrates through the steering wheel. had a look the other day and there is a very small gap where the cat bolts to the manifold and it look like thats where its touching under power!

its just when I accelerate hard then change gear it feels like the engine is going to jump out! there is a nock when I change gear quickly. doesn't do it all the time. Oh yeah having a little cup on these roads is fantastic! no mine isn't the 1 parked in hawkshead seen 1 going around though...

is there any signs to look out for?

was thinking about that, maybe get one made up just saying CUP and see how it looks, then choose between them! :)
