Just to keep @OssPoop happy ;) I decided to do a headlight restoration today. I ordered the bits i needed during the week (AG Headlamp Resto Kit, Tape and sealer). The lights looked OK from a distance, but were quite poor on closer inspection.
First thing i did was grab the de-greaser and...
Bit of a blow this morning :( I have parts arriving at my work and today i received the new power steering pump so I was all excited. I then had a reply to my PM from Mick at Diamond Motors and he said that he wouldn't be able to fit a pump that he didn't supply as the tolerances are so small on...
I was going to suggest that actually, I have seen a thread recently on it and the guy "tachosoft" had been used before with good reviews plus that's only £20/30
PMS for me then  Will buy the vibration dampers just in case.
EDIT: Just realised i have stolen this thread ha, sorry!
Back on topic where can you buy the Yanoo from?
What would be good if someone has had PMS and the Yanoo kit so they could give us a good comparison. I have heard good things about both really, but that just shows how s**t the change is standard.
What is Beaniesport like? I have heard some good things, i understand they are busy. Haven't had much of a response when i asked about doing some work on my car :(
Yer there is a lot of opinions on this subject like i said, I will give the new standard ones ago with the Powerflex bush and see how I get on. Worst case I can always change to the Ktec ones if required. I would like to go for a ride in a car with some fitted to see what it was like for myself...
When i had wet foot wells in my DCI it was the sunroof, as you don't have one it could be the scuttle drains. It would be best to strip back the plastics and carpet in that area then get a friend with hose to poor water all over the car and see where it comes in from.
Spending money like it's water atm! Another job i fancied doing was changing the engine mounts, i believe they are the original ones and as they have done 130k+ It's probably worth changing them. There is a lot of controversy surrounding engine mounts, with some strong opinions. My dog bone was...
Just take it to Mick if your not confident or another specialist if that's too far. I can't imagine it would cost you more then an hours labor and some solder lol.
Where did you get your pump from? I had a full aux belt kit fitted when the belts were done so the PAS is the last piece it has a newish alternator on it as well.
I paid a lot more as i had lots of other stuff done at the same time. I just went with Service Code D on their website and then had more stuff done ha ha, but £630 sounds about right.
I have bitten the bullet and ordered a new power steering pump of eBay, cost £90 and it's supposed to be a genuine refurbished part. It was this one if anyone else is interested.

People do say after 100 miles or so the Ktec/vib ones do settle down a little. Even when i spoke to Andy at Engine Dynamics he said a poly dog bone and standard mounts are perfectly fine for a road car. As my car has done similar miles i think i will replace the engine and gearbox one next.
Looks like you have found the culprit then. You could test the wires for continuity and that would tell you if there was a break and with which wire, but it sounds like its the plug itself. I'm sure it wouldn't be an issue to strip some of the loom covering off to solder new wires on with the...
That's strange when i put my plate in nothing :( maybe because its a 55. Did it happen to say a manufacturer of the part? I think I will look into the EPAS conversion for the future, but for now just stick with the current setup.
