Now I would normally just do everything up by hand using judgement and check it after a few miles/days etc. But thought I may as well ask the question and get it right if possible.
So could someone please tell me the correct torque for the following suspension bolts/nuts:
1) Front strut...
When you do the one on the roof and inside the rear door cards be careful otherwise you can make the external paint bubble.
I used a hose and a damp cloth to keep the external paint cool whilst I was heating the tar off.
I think a white inside would go well with the blue car.
Sorry that came across very wrong mate. I wasn't saying it was a time bomb I was just interested to find out, hence my question mark :)
Just seems a very cheap price for so much car as I'm sure you are already aware.
Normally when cars are cheap there is something you don't know about it lol...
Is there anything wrong with it?
Sounds cheap to me. Which makes me assume it's a ticking time bomb and the owner knows something isn't quite right?
Looks very smart though.
Both myself and my dad drive my car. He's not as tall as me but we've never had any problems.
Sliders are easy to sort anyway to be honest if you're sure you want them. Just more cost though and a raised seating position.
Re: The life of... SharkyUK's Trophy [& Fred's V6]
When I bought mine a good while back. Burton Power was the cheapest I could find after a lot of looking around. Could have changed since though obviously so doesn't really help you too much LOL
No idea how much it cost me though as my...
Popular subframes are OMP and Cobra X-Low. As long as you select the Clio 1*2 subframe it will definitely fit. You may need washers under one side to make them perfectly straight depending on what carpet and bumpstops you're keeping in. I have the OMP ones. I'll actually be selling them in...
It's pretty simple mate.
Subframe bolts to the floor. The bolts go through those 4 holes you can see and you do them up from underneath.
And the seat you've linked, which is a base mounted seat will bolt straight to the subframe. You will probably have to bolt the seat to the subframe first...
OMP subframes from Kam Racing were the cheapest when I checked.
Having a slider though will make the seat sit a bit higher than without one obviously.
Or even better get a second hand set, because it's not as if subframes can go wrong lol.
I do mate yeah.
Place I use in South Croydon called Sturley Cars. Bob, the owner, repaired my Clio when someone rear ended it badly.
Couldn't fault his work and was very well priced I thought.
The rear Safety Devices cages from Mark Fish come ready built. You'll just need to get the foot plates welded to the floor/rear arches and bolt the cage feet to them.
If you get a full cage the front section also needs a foot plate welded to the floor each side. The rest of the joints are...
Just for anyone who might find this thread in a search I thought I'd update it.
Found a good place in Thornton Heath called Adept Industrial Finisher Ltd. Friendly chaps and good prices. Very pleased with the results.
I don't need to lol. With only 150 bhp and 120 ft lbs to carry that weight around. Even the book figures show it's lacking power.
Not saying it's not fun on da twisties. It may well be. I certainly wouldn't turn a drive in one down because I'd like to find out.
Mazda Mx-5s are fun. But...
I didn't say I had driven one?
Just read that article though, quite a good read thanks.
Would love to drive one and see what all the fuss is about to be honest.
Although I expect that people who do own them wouldn't take them anywhere near a track, which is where they're meant to shine...
Haha. I like the look of them. Apart from bits of the blue interior. Just seems such a shame about the power. Should have been the 2.0T surely with all the hype around it.
Is that article actually a good read? Need something to keep me busy.
