Look into using a chemical cleaner, or clay first before trying a compound on it. Try Tardis, ipa or panel wipe, werkstat prime and AF Rejuvenate did a fair job of removing some fence preserver my neighbour kindly left on my bonnet.
a harsh clay will remove overspray but obviously leave its own...
you'll only need the tiniest amounts.
I've tried a few other sealants as well as rainx
even a quick detailing spray with good water behaviour works just doesn't last all that long especially through the summer with regular washing of bug splatter
If they worked just the area the stain is, it would look rubbish and stand out as the rest of the panel won't match.
at the end of the day, you went to a business that needs to make money. That price is probably only basic labour charge.
find a detailing hobbyist on here that's local to run...
ah I thought you were referring to its performance. I've used C1.5 and C2 on glass previously and not had any problems like that, bit of a negative as was hoping to keep the glass performing until a couple of cars need G1
my G1 has all but gone after 2 years, only beads after its been washed and doesn't really sheet al that we'll until 60. As soon as it starts to get dirty it doesn't work so can't be any worse.
Will be using Reload this week, and wondered is it like C2 in that it can be applied on any surface, paint, glass, plastics?
Any specific do's and don'ts with application?
Claying will not remove lacquer, just leave it a mess of swirls if you really go at it.
As for using a compound to remove the lacquer that's a bit drastic isn't it? As you'll then need to prep and re lacquer. As for removing the lacquer, you'll be there a long time with a cutting compound to...
A 1#2 cambelt isnt a specialist job, just needs to be done by a competent mechanic with the right tools. Unless the car is running rough or slow since it's been done I wouldn't worry.
Certainly no need to go rushing to a professional for it to be re done, Craig was more than competent and new...
Baby on the way sends things the other way. I'm now selling off the 'non essentials'. I hate it!
but so far it's keeping the Mrs happy and she's soon spending it
Lovely colour, nice effort! Bet she was pleased
Little tip for next time. Wash or rinse after using the megs compound, not after using amigo as it may wash out some of the glaze / filling ability. Will still leave a great base, or better, for waxing over.
Also looking at the dirt on that...
