Gun metal alloys rock!!!:approve:
Warning about the led lights. Someone posted after fitting theirs, said that it drains more power and affects cruise control??? :S
Planning a few mods on the car.
1) Filter (Already Done, sounds sweet) itg panel filter
2) De-cat
3) Springs
4) Brakes
5) ECU Remap.
Should I get the remap done sooner, or will the car run fine even with filter and decat??
Did something similar to my Mini years ago, had to get it all tuned...
Pop the bonnet, perform a CPR/Chest compression movement on the top of the shock mount. Repeat it both sides. If it bounces around a bit more on 1 side, then you know the shock has gone or about to.
The same can be done at the rear, open the boot lid, then perform the movement as above on the...
I've got the same problem, although I'm 14 stone of pure muscle LOL!! :D
My seats have the leather side. These rub against the plastic guard for the seat runners. There are two ways round it. Adjust the height of the seat (which probably won't work for you being 6ft etc), or as someone...
Don't quote me, but from previous threads, the Grp N flash is for cars that have modded air filters and exhaust. Anything more than that would benefit from a Live update on the ECU.
The Grp N Flash is (what i can gather), an off the shelf upgrade. So it'll suit most mildly modded cars.
:( My alarm keeps going off at random times. Don't think anyone is near it when it goes off.
Wednesday night it went off at 4am :sleepy: . Last night I didn't hear it :quiet: , but it gave to bleep when I opened the doors to indicate that it had. The internal LED is doin 3 flashes =...
I came from a 1.2 to the 182, fan...bloody...tastic
You'll love it, but you'll s**t yourself at the amount of petrol your payin for now compared to what you use to. :D
Welcome, excellent car to start on. I had a 1.2 16v before my 182.
They are awesome little cars, excellent mpg, which to be honest, even though you'll want speed, is probably best till you get that high paying job. :approve:
Insurance is up to you. They have to prove it if they question it.
It's not something that can be seen with the bonnet up. It is only detectable by computer (and obviously drivin it).
For an opinion on what to do, best search the hundred other threads on ecu chips etc. There are quite a...
Have a look at the Green Pads, they are for fast road use and are useable at low temps (quite inportant first thing in the morning).
Replace the disc's if they have a serious lip on the outside edge. Get them measured at a Kwik Fit garage for free (they like most garages do free brakes checks...
I've always used Optimax too, don't think its made a huge difference, but like ppl have said, its got cleaning agents in it.
I think it also has a lot to do with the ecu. When the ecu is std, it doesn't matter if you put 99/100/120 (race quality) fuel. The ecu is calibrated for 98 OCN fuel...
I went from a 1.2 Dyna to a FF 182.
Love every minute of it, fantastic car. I don't think it really matters. Go for the best 172 you can find, with a bit of money left over for some mods. Or just a newer 182, with the future intention to mod.
I had a problem with the back parcel shelf (not that you've got a front one).
Rattles against the bott lid. The only way round is either a new (better fitting) shelf, or move the rubber stops on the shelf.
