price is dependant tbh mate. are you willing to do the work yourself?
mine cost me a total of about fuk all. ok i had to supply/fit all the std items, head/cams/inlet etc and swapped for the bodies/big valve head/cams.
i fitted it all myself, which cost me the price of a head gasket set...
i wasnt comparing mine mate, just going off all the moaning u d o at ho w expensive yours is to run. ;) ok u get maybe better mileage on a good mway run.but the only time u do that is wen its on its way back to gdi pretty much ;)

as above really, depends how much you want to spend. the bottom end could be lightened/balanced, forged pistons, h section rods, arp bolts etc would come to less than £2k easily i would sa y tbh mate, pistons/rods both being...

btw yorkshire born n bred me ;) so no..i dont live in manc or liverpool, but iv worked nights in both, and i now where i feel safer too, and where all my work equipment is safer...
aye but if u weigh up the cost of s/c or turbo on the f7, forged pistons etc etc etc and then u still need to fuk around with maps etc, ok so no real wiring, but then the vags reliable power, not summat thats gunna blow h/g for fun, or constantly need attention, like the f7s seem to when blown...

main reason most ppl werent going the 2.0 route in their valver back then was because of the expense really, about 5-6 years ago i priced up what itd cost for me to hybrid my valver.....with what the car was worth, and the expense of the bits, it worked out...
as above really. u can get the meg head to work, but means fukkin about . whip the head off, and go for a valver/williams head.
unless u wanna bolt some throttle bodies on, in which case leave the meggy head on. and u get to keep the megs covers ;)
