Having owned an Astra in the past I find the Clio of the same age has more toys and nicer interior.
Although the mpg I got with the 1.7 dti was great and it was the estate with a towbar so it was a proper work horse.
If its for a daily I'd get the 182FF
My local dealer does Ford too so I'm going to try and test one of these and the ST back to back :) My Mrs fancies the 200T as it seems a bit more grown up than the ST and the fact it has 5 doors.
Re: Ph1 172
Traffic was horrendous and I was late home in a mood so I sorted the exhaust out.
Didn't fancy cutting the bumper and the 3.5" tailpipe looked too big....
so I lopped it off...
And then put a 2.5" rolled out on instead. Not perfect but its better now so I can live with it.
He's an aquaintance of mine. He made my solid boost pipes on my last car for free.
Still, if you want to go and spend an extra £40-50 quid then so be it. Just trying to help and save OP money.
He's only there for 10 more days as he's opening his own place up rather than working for Longlife...
Centre silencer makes quite a difference to noise levels (dependant on it's size, length more than diameter). Decat makes even more again.
Taking them out won't necessarily make it drone, there's more to the exhaust design than that.
As your running a 172 and changing the cat for a decat and...

Here's the cup rear bench. A little easier to remove and fit for track days and better for the kids seats. (thanks Cal!)
And I trial fitted one of the bucket seats. Nice and light, cheap, Very comfy, great seating position...happy Tom!
And the new tow eye, taken...
My KTec is fine, but that's with centre box and sports cat.
Biggest difference for me was changing from a stealth to a recessed system. Recessed is much better
I sold my camera a while ago but I've still got my trusty Desire HD.
Has anyone used on for recording in car? I'm sure I've read a thread on here where someone uses one.
If so how have you mounted it?
Re: Ph1 172
Well now that it's all together and working I thought I'd put up the full spec list. All the parts are brand new apart from the exhaust and manifold really so its like a new car to drive, absolutely fantastic! I've probably missed bits off too!
Engine:-
Piper cams
ALD ported head...
Re: Ph1 172
Do they suffer from surge problems?
I fancy a better inlet at some point. ITBs have the downfall of needed an aftermarket ECU and the RS2 is expensive.
No, he wants a lightened flywheel and crank. And getting a 197 crank at -1.5kg would be a better start than the 182 crank. That's what I was getting at.
I have been informed by NorthLoopCup the Clio 197 crank is 1.5kg lighter :) Unfortunately I found out too late to get one for mine but it would be a better starting point for you.
