    back after 3 years

Having owned an Astra in the past I find the Clio of the same age has more toys and nicer interior. Although the mpg I got with the 1.7 dti was great and it was the estate with a towbar so it was a proper work horse. If its for a daily I'd get the 182FF

CLIO IV RS - Trophy from page 111

My local dealer does Ford too so I'm going to try and test one of these and the ST back to back :) My Mrs fancies the 200T as it seems a bit more grown up than the ST and the fact it has 5 doors.

    ITB'd Road & Track Ph1 Titanium 172

Re: Ph1 172 Traffic was horrendous and I was late home in a mood so I sorted the exhaust out. Didn't fancy cutting the bumper and the 3.5" tailpipe looked too big.... so I lopped it off... And then put a 2.5" rolled out on instead. Not perfect but its better now so I can live with it.

    Polybush exhaust mount.

I've got a brand new one ready made for sale

182 Cat Mod - anyone had it done?

He's an aquaintance of mine. He made my solid boost pipes on my last car for free. Still, if you want to go and spend an extra £40-50 quid then so be it. Just trying to help and save OP money. He's only there for 10 more days as he's opening his own place up rather than working for Longlife...

182 Cat Mod - anyone had it done?

Speak to Mike at Hoole Tyres and Exhausts, he's only there for another 10 days but he'd sort it out for £10-20 or so.

Unsilenced mid section & standard Renault rear silencer

Centre silencer makes quite a difference to noise levels (dependant on it's size, length more than diameter). Decat makes even more again. Taking them out won't necessarily make it drone, there's more to the exhaust design than that. As your running a 172 and changing the cat for a decat and...

Air con Delete Kit and Removal or Air con

No there's nothing. The Pure Motorsport stuff is spot on, great quality and the instructions are very clear. Can't fault their stuff.

Air con Delete Kit and Removal or Air con

Just follow the Pure Motorsport instructions :)

    ITB'd Road & Track Ph1 Titanium 172

Re: Ph1 172 Here's the cup rear bench. A little easier to remove and fit for track days and better for the kids seats. (thanks Cal!) And I trial fitted one of the bucket seats. Nice and light, cheap, Very comfy, great seating position...happy Tom! And the new tow eye, taken...

    frazjam's Ph1 172

My KTec is fine, but that's with centre box and sports cat. Biggest difference for me was changing from a stealth to a recessed system. Recessed is much better

Desire HD for track day camera

I sold my camera a while ago but I've still got my trusty Desire HD. Has anyone used on for recording in car? I'm sure I've read a thread on here where someone uses one. If so how have you mounted it?

    ITB'd Road & Track Ph1 Titanium 172

Re: Ph1 172 Cheers guys, spent a bit more than I had originally intended tbh. But it feels worth it (sort of!) when it gets driven properly :)

    ITB'd Road & Track Ph1 Titanium 172

Re: Ph1 172 Well now that it's all together and working I thought I'd put up the full spec list. All the parts are brand new apart from the exhaust and manifold really so its like a new car to drive, absolutely fantastic! I've probably missed bits off too! Engine:- Piper cams ALD ported head...

    Borg and beck clutch kit

Yes just the standard B&B one. About £80 off ebay. (I think I found mine cheaper by searching the part number rather than one for a Clio)

    Borg and beck clutch kit

Mine is just fine! Had good experience with them in the past too where the types of LUK would slip and the B&B were fine.

Re: Ph1 172 Do they suffer from surge problems? I fancy a better inlet at some point. ITBs have the downfall of needed an aftermarket ECU and the RS2 is expensive.

    DTM turboed Black Gold 182

No, he wants a lightened flywheel and crank. And getting a 197 crank at -1.5kg would be a better start than the 182 crank. That's what I was getting at.

    MarkCup's Fiesta ST

Glad to hear all went well on track :) What tyres and pads were you running? They reviewed the Mountune kit in the latest Top Gear mag and loved it.

    DTM turboed Black Gold 182

I didn't say that. I was just helping out with info to satisfy the spec list from the OP.

    DTM turboed Black Gold 182

I have been informed by NorthLoopCup the Clio 197 crank is 1.5kg lighter :) Unfortunately I found out too late to get one for mine but it would be a better starting point for you.
