didnt get time today, mrs wanted to go shopping with her mates, she got back an hour ago :-(
im not in a rush to get it all done at once so will take my time, even if it does cost me £50 for all the bits, thats £100 in my back pocket :-)
as a general rule i start with suspension/brakes then the styling then the engine/exhaust.
all depends on what your car needs though and what you want out of it, some on here are all show no extra go and some are driven not detailed!!!
a chap on here can re-trim the steering for £150 or you...
because it wouldnt go round bends like it dores now.
vxrs are fine for going fast in a staight line but cant carry speed through corners like an rs clio!!
nice motor, plans sound good but it will need lowering to look even meaner :-)
there was one at fcs belting round the track and it look pretty quick on the straights....
stuff like silvervisions and stubby aerials, colour codeing etc i wouldnt bother with.
obvious stuff like suspension brakes and non oe wheels i would.
the thing is most insurance just list it as suspension changes so doesnt matter if its -40mm springs or £1500 coilovers still around 10 amonth...
it could be anything to do with the drivetrain, ie flywheel, clutch, gearbox driveshafts, cv joints ect...
unless you know what to look for get it to a specialist so they can check over the above and advise of the best/cheapest way to fix it depending if you want to keep it or sell it on.....
cheers guys think ill have a go on saturday if the weather is ok, some of you may get to see my awesomeness/fail, which ever way it goes, on sunday at the meet lol
yes it will eventually get clogged up with oil vapours/road dust but just clean it out with carb cleaner a few times a year!!
make sure you cable tie it upright though or it will drip oil out of the breather filter rather than returning down the brather pipe if that makes sence??!!
far too complicated to find out its proper factual history.... means walking away imo
if on the otherhand if it wasnt going back on the road.....awesome track car patencial if you can knock 1k off it!!!
looked into getting my side strips/bullets and mirror caps done in pearl black to match the rest of the car but dont really want to spend £150 as i think its alot for such small parts.
im pretty sure i could have a good go at it myself with some rattle cans from halfrauds for alot less.
im a...
forget about the 1.2, wont be any quicker than what you have now.
the earlyer 1.4 16v has 100hp and is resonably brisk for what it is.
the engine that replaced it in the later clio 3 models is the 1.2 turbo again 100hp resonably quick and cheaper tax and remaps see 125hp.
the 1.6 has 115hp in...
that would be the oil breather pipe.
put one of those breather filters on it and leave it to vent under the bonnet, will be fine!!
might want to think about getting some carb cleaner to clean up the tb though before you refit the new filter!!
