Just spray them, cant really see what the fuss is about tbh!
Halfords satin black, about 6 quid for the rattle can, push out the diamonds, quick key of the caps, few coats, jobs a good'un ;)
Did the Evo Triangle for the first time over the last Bank Holiday. Poor show really as i'm only 50 mins away :o Anyway, few shots of the Cup, nothing arty, it was its last major outing, it was sold on sat to another forum member, looked ace driving away, funny how you never appreciate your own...
Thats my thinking, to gain one, you lose the other. It must be advantageous for this engine as its still used in the 197/200, but with a better entry angle for the TB as the air is fed in smoother.
I did mine at the weekend. I started with 800 grit wet/dry, then moved to 1200 then 1500. Then i attacked it with some power gloss by PC, then Intensive Polish. Come up well tbh. Will still source a brand new set come spring i think. I have a feeling they will soon fade back , its the...
Can be moved/adjusted to suit. Just need a large torx bit (cant remember the size, something like a T40) Slacken the three fixings off and the latch can be moved about. It adjusts how the door sits.....
Thats well gypo imo, like the MK3 197/200 Cups. I thinks its a poor show, even boggo 1990's Corsa Merits had temp sensors! Bit of a safety thing also imo, its nice to know if its near freezing whilst driving.....
See, nor did I. Always ran mine on Optimax, yeah once warm i opened the taps, but not stupidly so....... Dont use my car for work, just a 40 mile round trip of A/B roads, to visit the gf. The most i ever got from the 197 was low 30's.Its norm was 28 ish. I sold the 197 on around 42k, so well run...
That Corsa definately has the legs on the straights, no question. So much for the extra 200 torques huh? :)
Be also interesting to see the roles reversed, 200 in front OPC/VXR behind........
Should have got a mans colour at least, especially having a cup before ;)
I wouldnt worry about the mounts really. Some people seem to swap mounts all the time, yet with all the MK'2 RS's I've had since 2004, I've only ever swapped the dogbone mount. Mine get driven properly too. .... if...
Seriously, you either drive the car with a feather, or its a freak. I got 350 a tank at the most if i was lucky. SBV116 above who also has a 200, was my 'mate' ;) Thats pretty much diesel mpg!
Looks very clean, however the hole badge painting thing i've never got, looks toy town to me?
...... and why have you used pearl black, when the car is black gold?
Good stuff, please get it tweeked to fit properly though, look a bit w**k sticking out so far....... Fred seems to think its actually made for a phase 1 172, hense why they stick out so far on the phase 2's
Hmmmmm can you not fit the o.e bushes off your old shocks?
Usually there is 2 rubber bushes, one for underneath, one from above that 'sandwich' either side of the mount.
Edit, lookslike the Konis have their own set up,
Not a chance! My 197 was around 28/29 and thats mainly A/B road driving (20 miles a time ish. Mate who has a 200 gets lower than that, thats with mainly shorter journeys.
Hi
I had a 197 for 18 months and here's my findings. MPG you're looking around 28 MPG combined....they also should be run on super, which is quite pricey. Tyre mileage for me was around 12k. Always replace them with a premium brand, budgets do have a detrimental effect of handling in my...
