I really cant see it doing anything Tony ..
the high pressure venturi effect they quote on their web site already occurs in the engine breather pipes...
I think its snake oil nothing more...
if the device worked at all, manufacturers would be fitting it by the shed load, they aint...
Ok, following on from a recent thread....
WHAT EXACTLY do you guys declare to the insurance rip off merchants ???.
where do you draw the line.. ??
if you fitted a set of uprated pads, would you declare it ??.
a set of grooved disks ??
different tyres ??
Wheels ??
IK
Zorst...
damn straight dood lol..
please note though.. that this doesnt apply to later mk1 172s and all mak2 172s as they use a single rail fuel feed with reg in the tanks and a PBV cannot be added..
Joe.
Have you EVER known that happen to ANYBODY ???
I have been driving and modifying cars for 28 years m8..
it dont happen..
it is NOT a problem at all. just use your head.
the worst thing you can do to attract attention is max power style work
Mechanical etc.. no probs..
Joe.
Sorry, I forgot to add ..
the wasting fuel bit......
as some of this air entering the plenum is not via the throttle plate, and the ecu senses the throttle plate position, then the engine sees a slightly reduced plate angle and fuels less.. the lama sensor sees this and returns the fueling...
I have been thinking about this ecotec device
ok, here goes
With a vane type (Flap) airflow meter - as used in a lot of older car designs.. it is theoretically possible to allow a small amount of extra unmetered air into the engine via the servo vacuum pipe ..
because this air doesnt...
each to their own..
what they dont know, dont worry em ...
I would NEVER declare the following..
Wheels, tyres, brakes, exhaust
ANY Internal engine work,
non obvious engine work,
Not a lot I would declare as a matter of fact..
My m8 is an insurance assessor.. he rolls about...
Hi Jamie.
If yer cat is f*(KED, then it may well be effecting overall power..
what makes you think you have more torque mid range with a knackered cat m8 ??.
by putting on bigger wheels you are applying a larger turning force to the power unit.. there will be a max torque figure that...
Ya dont brun LOL
ya work the power at the flywheel from the TORQUE at the wheels, the RR ONLY measures torque..
from torque at the wheels, you can calculate NHP, and then from a process of cosat down testing, you can tell the power lost by the transmission / tyres etc...
Joe.
quote from their site..
(Q) What is an Ecotek CB-26P?
(A) It is a mechanical device that, when fitted to a petrol engine (not Diesel), improves the petrol consumption by as much as 20%, enhances the overall performance and significantly reduces harmful emissions. CB stands for Clean Burn...
