Actually he was last active in Feb so its not like he's been away long.
I think he's realised how much he has pissed people off on here and is in hiding.
Going to do this myself. I suspect a lower balljoint having gone so im gonna change it.
Can anyone provide me with a walkthru guide or is it a fairly straightforwad job?
Also is it common sense to do the front pair instead of just one side?
172 Cup is different in these ways.

Have had this noise for ages but today it really was obvious.
Was doing a "test" type cone slalom at a big Mini meet at Dunsfold Aerodrome, lots of sharp, tight cornering with lots of lock on and the knocking is basically coming from the unloaded front wheel whether turning right or left, but...
If the guy had a spine, or even maybe even just a vertebra or two, he'd man up and deal with this situation.
By the sounds of it, he spends most of his time hiding behind his girlfriends skirt....
In your case, yes they should go on the back....;)
I don't subscribe to that view though. Have always put newer tyres on the front.
I want my driven wheels to have the fresher rubber, not the rear.
If it gets loose at the back due to the tyres, its down to having superior rubber on the front...
The girlfriend! Her cousin is into his Mini's (or should i say the small BMW's;)) bigtime, and he has organised a 250 car Mini Meet at Dunsfold Aerodrome with some laps of the track.
He managed to blag me in as well. :D
So im gonna be ONE Clio in amongst 240 odd other Mini's....be nice to show...
Right it should be changed every 12k or yearly, whatever comes first so the next service should come 1 year since you last changed the oil.
Regardless of miles, it needs servicing 1 yearly.
As its 4 years old now you need to do a coolant change and prob a brake fluid change. Cambelt will be...
When you say slow do you mean it struggles to accelerate?
Sometimes when you increase the bore of an exhaust by too much you lose back pressure (the strength of the exhaust vacuum pulse) so the engine has to labour.
Has it always felt sluggish or just recently?
I would have if i wasn't having a rag round the Top Gear track tomo!
Im interested to see if yours is down on power. Have you done any breathing mods? Uprated air filter element etc?
I've got a pencil drawing of a Cup on my wall.....a birthday present from the girlfriend.
She bought it from someone on here who does them....is very good.
Well hows this for a comparison. I drive to work, drive around in Elises and Exiges, get in it to go home and still don't find it slow!
I do have days where i don't love it as much....usually when its dirty or rattling more than usual, but then i know its time to go out for a proper DRIVE not a...
Haha! Another one of these threads?! Ahhhh....gotta love this place. The fact things like this will never change is a comforting feeling!
For what its worth, which isn't much, i do very much dislike CTR's for some reason....i think i've had it since birth, but as Kully says, there are very fine...
James, i hope this thread has provided you with some options.
If i were in your shoes i'd call around the mentioned companies and get a feel for what you want to do.
I haven't dealt with any of them personally. There are endless stories, supporters of each and haters of each.
For me, if i was...
