It should be done in 4th, or whatever gear is closest to 1:1. In the 16v, 4th is actually 1.00:1.

Ive just had a look at a valver and rt and its hard to tell. The 16v boot looks wider but it could just be the arches making it look wider......

Hes got that the wrong way round. Smaller wheels - better acceleration Bigger wheels - better top end Simple solution to this is go and stick some 15"s on it and see how she goes!

LOL, its easier to ask who hasnt had this problem! Simple solution - fit an aftermarket exhaust e.g. K-Tec.
