Im just thinking it may be more beneficial for me to fill the swirls rather than get rid of them on the cars that I'm doing. Mostly oldish cars which need a bit of a lift. perhaps the once over with a white or green pad and a light polish then fill with black hole on a black pad to finish?

    MarkCup's Fiesta ST

Unfortunately I think the 2.3 will be a bored out 2.0 with a bigger blower on it as the next engine up they have is the 3.0 (iirc) v6 (no way of making it a small 4 pot) and that's for across the pond. Ive no doubt the 2.3 will be cracking too though, and probably wot be long until it appears...

    MarkCup's Fiesta ST

Yes they are, although in the focus st3 you get the full leathers, not sure if its an option on the fiesta. as for the engine, doesn't matter if its smaller its the same tech, same character all be it less powerful in a smaller car. I think the ecoboost engine (be it 1.0 or 2.0) is a cracking...

    MarkCup's Fiesta ST

For the seat haters. Just sit in then, you'll forget about how ugly they look ;) very nice mark! You'll join me in praise for the ecoboost engine now? I think it's a remarkable engine! should have waited for the blue though :p

Fair enough, I imagine it would struggle in the slow corners though

My circuit project, Clio 1, 1.8/2.0.

Your dad is so lucky he has a daughter who is into cars! Most would have to give up getting dirty for playing babies when they have a daughter :p That's a fairly big flat spot on that graph? Doesn't it suffer?

    "Refining"

I wasn't hugely impressed with #85 anyway tbh. I only bought it just incase I needed something pretty harsh (which I did on the bootlid) i don't see how it's that crazy, I was reading a thread on DW that said wet sanding actually took less clear coat off than polishing did. It was a calculated...

    "Refining"

Too late now lol.ill see how I get on with what I've got first before spending more! i bought revive though. Supposed to be good. Do you know if it will last longer if I put reload over it?

    "Refining"

Well I just ordered some menzerna 85rd just to try along with some other bits and bobs so we will see what I can do on Friday :) will have to wait a few weeks before I can afford a PDI as I've spent far too much this month on car cleaning gear lol

    "Refining"

I haven't mentioned getting a rotary, although the added speed of correction is tempting me. I'm fairly careful when it comes to the paint. PDI is higher on my list of to buys before I get a rotary tbh. having read gallys thread again (the pictures are back now lol) I realise its my technique...

    "Refining"

So you suggest selling my megs range then? I don't want to have them just for it to go to waste. Which polishes would you recommend for use with a da? As a "complete set" if you will. Ie a few polishes that will sort the majority of paint issues out. Im convinced now its my technique but...

    Detailing Chat & Questions Thread

What finishing polish is best to go for? i don't know wether to chose menzerna 106fa or 85rd... also auto finesse revive, worth it for plastics and rubbers? Can I put some reload over this to seal in the look? got a seat Leon to do on Friday so I want it to be top notch

    "Refining"

Looks like I'm not working the product long enough and in an area that's too big. So will work on that next time :)

Perhaps I lack finesse then. I need more practice :(
  28. J

    "Refining"

These menzerna products are a lot harder to get to grips with than the others lol. Not as clearly set out as other products. so for example. If I was to remove swirls with #83 or #85 then finish with this on a black pad it should leave a swirl free finish? Or would it be best to fit another...
