Sennheiser MX500 - £20 very good quality, bang for buck. Shure E2C - £50 very good noice cancelling buds, very nice tight fit. Etymotic ER6 - £60 same as above, but better bass imo.

The N91 buttons are horribly small i think, as is the screen. For me i think i'll only share interest in the N80 - but if O2 are anal and charge ridiculous sums i think i'll look elsewhere.

Not sure which phones you've all used extensively, but i assure you the D500/D600 and D800 ARE all good phones. What is it in particular thats so bad about them? (My last 4 phones have been SE btw)
