Thanks guys. Next time I go I’m going to do some more night time stuff, I’m going to try and get some different scenes/angles but this is always going to be difficult in one of the most heavily photographed areas in the world lol.

Cheers. Well the night shots are unashamedly cliche, but I don’t care, I wanted to get the cliche shots of my own that I’ve seen other people get before I go looking for something different. I wouldn’t say that they are dark, just more representative of the actual scene without lurid colours...

    Eddie’s E21 Photoshoot

Ahh right. I’m not that read up on BM’s lol, I’ll change that now.

Cheers! Oh the F40 was a dream come true, what a stunning car. I’ve never seen one in the metal before either, that was a special occasion. I heard something round the corner and I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw it lol.

    London

On saturday I was in London for the day just on a general wander visit, no specific agenda other than to take some photos and enjoy the city. So this time I had a different setup to my last visit in terms of lenses with last time being entirely shot on a 135mm F2L, and this time being a mix of...

New lens for my Nikon D3100

I’ve seen the 50mm F1.8G for £150 nowadays, and personally I’d go for that over the 35mm F1.8G.

    Eddie’s E21 Photoshoot

Well really, there isn’t all that much to it, but here goes- The car was placed where there were no other cars in the background that could be distracting, it was also placed next to the puddles so that I could achieve the reflections that add a nice element to the image. The car was also...

    Aucky’s Trophy Photoshoot

I did some of the front but the lighting wasn’t brilliant, so they didn’t come out very well :/

    Aucky’s Trophy Photoshoot

So last night, along side Eddie’s E21, I did some photos for Aucky of his Trophy. It looked stunning in this location with the colour being so bright against the dull concrete. So, the photos- Clio 182 Trophy by Niall97, on Flickr Clio 182 Trophy by Niall97, on Flickr Clio 182 Trophy by...

I do too, but it’s too central IMO, being centralised would only work if the scene was symmetrical really.

That second one is fantastic, I’d crop it to a more interesting composition though. Possibly so that the boat is towards the bottom left of the frame.

    What lens ~ £150? Canon.

Have a look round second hand, there are some good bargains out there.

Yeah, I’ll do that when I go back with the fisheye. I wanted to go with a fisheye originally but I didn’t have it before I went. The fisheye would be really cool because in one of their music videos they use a fisheye lens in the video at this location. Thanks, Brazo. I particularly liked it...

Yeah the gelatine filters, but that’d be more for an ND or coloured gelatine.

Haha I know. I have some car stuff coming up in the next week so I might leave it until then. As James said you can’t put filters on it, there’s no thread for a filter. So no beloved CPL ;)

I think it’s probably the screen on the camera being set too bright, it’s giving you a false impression of what it will look like essentially, whereas the computer will show the actual exposure. I might not be right though with that looking like such a huge difference.

I like that last one, Ben. It has a very all American feel to it.

I had the 10-20 and it was fantastic, I know it's one of if not the most popular choice for crop bodies. The Tokina is probably good too.

    Photography Chat and Questions Thread

You do know that a constant aperture lens just means that it is (in this case) f4 whether you're at 12mm or 24 mm unlike a lens that is f4-5.6, which as you zoom in makes the aperture smaller. So you can change the aperture to whatever you want, it's not 'fixed'.

Yeah looks good! The tube stations will probably suit it with long tunnels and escalators that look good with a wide angle.

    Photography Chat and Questions Thread

Yeah I’m loving it from a quick play around with it in the house. I can’t wait to get it to London in a few weeks. I know that fisheyes split opinion, but personally some very interesting and striking images can be produced with them :)
