What made you choose your Rs or Clio ?

called up a guy on Autotrader one day and decided to take one for a drive (yes I admit is I was intending to be a test pilot) and I had no intention of buying it, just wanted to see what they were like. After a test drive I was sold and I bought it on the spot without hesitation! love it like...

my 197 slow at times wanna knw if i cn do anything to help it

firstly don't even think about doing that, someone wont hesitate to break window if you leave it running, and when it goes your insurance wont cover you because the key is in the ignition!, please please don't do that lol!! On a second note I know a fella that has a group N remap on a 172, it...

on another note I understand the drive shafts on RS's aren't exactly bombproof either, havent got any experience of this, can someone confirm?

    ITB Thread #101 - reliability

Your probably right mate, no rev matching etc when shifting down will all take their toll. A 240 bhp car might be ok for a year/year and a half, but I would be surprised if the box lasted longer, it just wasn't designed for it and your putting on 30-40% more torsional load through all the...

    ITB Thread #101 - reliability

The clio engines themselves are built tough, but I have heard that the clio gearboxes are as we already know not the most reliable of boxes even on a standard car, supposedly they are only good for around 200bhp and start to have problems at that stage...

Hi fellas, Ive been looking around for a Professional detailing company to give my clio a good going over. Ive negotiated a good quote from the company http://www.driveandshine.co.uk/ based in surrey, does anyone have any experience with them? they seem very helpful and knowledgeable so far...

    clay bar how/what?

just to reignite an old thread... I clayed my car tonight for the first time in its 5 year life a boy was there some muck on it judging by te colour of the clay... I was quite disappointed with the results visually until I realised the clay has probably removed all the wax, polish etc that has...

    '05 182 with 14,500m on the clock

2 packs: 1) Spoiler pack - larger rear spoiler and front Splitter, not advantage other than visual, nice touch though 2) Suspension/chassis upgrade - uprated suspension, stiffer & lower makes a big handling difference i'm told and I believe the front hubs are stronger/rigid"er" lol + lovely...

    Got the cup back

Before I bought my car I did look at getting a cup of some description but decided against it mainly because the lack of features seemed more of a marketing con to me than anything else, and I knew getting the 182 with all the goodies would prolong my interest in the car, even if something like...

    who's cliosport farts...?

not really mate, perfect excuse to fit a de-cat :D and boy what a difference it makes combined with an remap! Luckily I got a 182 cat of ebay for peanuts, I'm sure they are something silly like £600 new!? If it does turn out to be your cat mate you can have mine off me as I bought it in case...

    who's cliosport farts...?

I had exactly this mate, turned out to be a 270 degree crack running all the way around the conical end of the cat, the crack was being forced open on acceleration and making a loud barpppp sound, similar to a blowing exhaust but a bit sharper. Get your car on a ramp with someone in the drivers...

    mother k-o's my monaco :(

Really really sorry to hear that mate, you must be gutted, but at least shes ok mums + fast driving = disaster tbh, how the last Renault in my family met its maker, she got away without a scratch, blamed it on a puddle lol even though for some reason the dial was stuck on 82 minstrels per...

    Water in Spare wheel

get the water out with a sponge - soak it up, ring it out etc Seats out and allow to dry otherwise they will just get worse, alternatively put a fan heater in there and get it nice and warm. Do you know how the water got in there!? I would be more worried about a leak, crack in the boot well? t

What do you hate about your Clio?

really?? I think mine fit the right way - 'spoiler' front shape at the front? I'll check though!
  26. Tom@JMS

What do you hate about your Clio?

too answer your problem get some Bosch aero twins - they are straight swap and they are much neater and sit much lower!! Also on the topic of wipers I hate the way both my original wipers, replacement originals and now Aeros come off the glass at the outside edge of the drivers wiper, they miss...

    magnex system

I've got a magnex that came on my 182 with a Ktec silenced decat, tidy setup, provides a low exhaust note, maybe a little on the loud side but only when your not in the mood for the noise if you understand :), but its half the volume of some decated cars I've heard! Plus a Good performance gain...
