    Which clay for a novice??

I find SRP and EGP on wheels is as good as the wheel sealants I have tried. Just remember to not use anything aggressive when you next clean your wheels - use shampoo and a different mitt to that used for bodywork - Halfords do a decent grey one which is ideal for £8

    Anyone used advancedcarproducts.com?

They were the original importers of Zaino. I've never used them, but I know of people who have without issues. Tim/CYC is definitely great when it comes to delivery.

    Zaino

I've just started using it and I love it. I'm using it without ZFX at the moment, and am still getting excellent results!

    Zaino Z2

ZAIO or Z6 wipedown would be a good starting point for Z2P. Zaino do recommend you use ZFX with your first layer of Z2P, but the first layer I applied today seemed totally fine without ZFX.

    SRP?! EGP?! I'M SO CONFUSED!

I think EGP is great, but you need 24 hours between layers, and 3 seems to be the best amount. You don't really need to top with a wax either - its great on its own, especially for the money. Just be sure to apply a thin, even layer, leave for 45 mins then simply buff off. It will only...

    K55 CUP

It was up for £7,500, and they wouldn't move on price for ages! Was a tidy example though.

    Good Wax Polish

I don't understand these issues with EGP - whack it on a MF applicator, spread a thin layer, then buff it off 30 mins later. It only bonds with SRP though, so if you aren't applying on SRP, that will be your problem. For the original poster, you need SRP and EGP from what you have at your...

a few ''just cleaned pics'' and a Q re: dirty wheels.

Daisy APC from Tesco is about 75P for 1.5L - works really well on wheels and arches - a shrewd investment. Sponge is fine too if you have rinsed the car well and its not too dirty I use a Zymol sponge without issues.

Best way to touch up paint chips?

Only real way to DIY is to fill it with paint and clearcoat then wet sand it down and machine polish to finish.

    aqua wax

As Rich says, apply it when the water is still on the car as per AG's instructions. If you apply it like a 'normal' wax it yields far less impressive results.
  21. RussZS

    aqua wax

I asusme you started with that and progressed to BoS etc? I still prefer the wetter look of a sealant instead of wax.

That's probably vxrmarc's from DW - Nurburgring Edition?

    2 new cars

    - Ask the dealer not to prep them (scratch them!) - Use a clay - lots of new cars have contaminents bonded to them from shipping - If the paint needs it, use something like 106FF or #80 on a polishing pad to clean the paint up a little - LSP as per usual.
  24. RussZS

    aqua wax

Rich - can you link me to the pics of your 182 with EGP on please? That car first got me into detailing - it looked amazing!
  25. RussZS

    aqua wax

3 layers of EGP I find to be the magic number... I have tried LOADS of waxes/LSP's in the past 6 months but I still keep coming back to PC'd SRP and 3 x EGP - amazing finish, especially on black!

    SRP-Little abrasives?

Why would the plastic bits go crappy but not the rest? Is the bumper the same? You going with a spot of EGP to seal?
