Taking the acoustic valve out!
Spent a few hours doing this, using the guide on cliotrophy.co.uk, and it makes it sound beautiful!
Seems like it pulls a little better in the lower revs but the sound could be making me think that.
PLUS weight saving ftw! took the engine cover off also...
exactly, i gave it a little tug and it seemed that screws were holding it on. I didn't want to pull too hard incase it broke so i made sure.
Isn't that why we pay a tenner a year lol
Got the wheel off to remove the acoustic valve but i don't know how to get the arch liner off... help please!
Big plug type things just pull out with some force?
ooo I tried the lil tool thing thats with the jack but it seemed liked if i forced it the cap would snap
So its not screwed on or being held on by anything?
hmm i found a broken bracket but i secured this and the rattle i'm hearing is still there. Heat shield is as tight as a ducks arse and all else is secure. surely its not supposed to be doing it :S
The burning smell is still happening after a bit of a thrashing, i expect it to be hot but not...
I'm not really up for taking the dampers off myself, i'll probly f**k something up... I'm ordering sportlines next week so it'll have to be done then but i'm going to pay someone to do it
Yeah its when im driving, you don't hear it when im cruising but when i put my foot down theres a rattle, nothing when im stationary and reving the engine though :S. Im going to have a good check when i get home.
I think a trip to the garage just to make sure is in order
