Im making a homemade induction kit using the standard airbox, should see some gains from that and its a really cheap £80 in total compared with £250-£350.00 for an after market sealed kit.
really nice, im not a fan of multi-multi spoke wheels with like 100 spokes but there perfect, look very racing inspired and classy. looking forward to seeing these on the car are they 16`s or eek 17`s.
btw whats wrong with turinis ? they look almost the same in fact i think i prefer the...
could you fit some aftermarket, say they were renault ones and get reno to fit them to a 172cup and maybe you wouldnt get a price hike on the insurance ?
yea so what surley putting the cat on for an MOT 1 half day out of 365 days a year isnt too much of a hardship especially when you no when you need to get your car MOTs so you have time.
i got my silvervisions from ktec and my clear side repeaters from BBPT. thing is i dunno if i should fit the silvervisions ??? a.) because it seems like a reet faff and b.) it mite look worse ?
hehe, true. i guess 100mph in 13 secs would be a bit of a stretch unless you had a 240/250hp clio with LSD. but lozzas cup did a low 5 to 60 so at least a slightly modded cup can keep with one to 60 i think once on the roll round a twisty track it wouldnt be a white wash which is an incredible...
those are Wrong it also has the MKII172 lighter than it is by far it claims it is 1035 kerb weight lol !! not a chance.
the MK1 172 is 1090 kgs. certainly not 1035 and the MKII 172 isnt 1035 either. just cos it looks smaller doesnt mean its any lighter. remove xenons out of the equation and...
how much BHP would you need to keep up with a M3 in a cup ?
ohh sure on the track M3s are fast but on the road there sh*t slow.. call it grown up or sensible, intelligent blah blah but every high powered £40,000k sports saloon i see is driven by an exec who is at least 40yrs old and usually...
fekin hell didnt think they were that light !!! so the standard cup wheels are only 9kgs well theres no point changin them then.
anyways have you got the pic yozza ?
weird im looking at that rite now.
how much do the turinis weigh ? im looking at some speedlines in white to replace but dont know if i can bring myself to change the turinis as they look so good. if there was a ultra light weight wheel that looked like turinis i would though.
yup i know people rant about there being no diffo between 172s but there wrong. i have just sold my 172MKII which i owned for nearly two years (a quick one aswell ) and bought a 172cup with just 11k miles its not even run in yet and its deffo quicker not just by a bit either, its more responsive...
back to the 325 thing. ive passed quite a few 325s gunning it on the roads old and new shapes. sure they could have all been autos or sh*tty drivers. but ive never had a problem keeping and passsing at all.
the level at which bmw start to get tricky to pass is the 330ci 0-60 is the same upto...
is it hard for some people to belive a really lightweight car with an exellent chasis and tyres and instant throttle response can out do a Uber Saloon on the bends ? it blatant physics one weighs say 500kg-600kg more and the faster you go the more that weight multiplies and becomes an issue for...
i met a very nice chap at donnignton last weekend and he like others seem to think the MK1 172 weighs like 1025kgs like 172 cup ? it doesnt it weighs same as the 182.
i.e MKII172 1110
182 = 20kgs lighter due to no spare wheel or kit (i weighed the MKII172 wheel + kit 20kgs) = 1090
182 cup...

btw is there a weight saving to be had. ohh and the 172cup i have now seems to have a smaller wheel than the 172 i dayt before ??
hi,
just bought a cup and i have to say its really quick, pulls instantly much more so than the MKII172 i had before. but i have a niggle.. the gear stick is squeeking when moved forward or back i.e with engine on or off, if i just sit in the car and move the stick into a gear i can hear it...
between the space in a 172 and 172 cup. there more in a cup !
comming straight from my 172 into the cup ive noticed, the steering wheel sems to be closer to the dash, the steering wheel seems smaller (but its probably because the wheel is further away, the steering column doesnt protrude...
god i wish i understood exhausts. to keep it legal and pass mot what kind of maximum performance exhaust can i get ? also not constantly loud or boomy.
so do i a.) need to keep silencers and b.) need a sports cat.
do i want a 100cell or 200cell ??
