Dave3141 - Your traction control and your ESP are in the same switch mate (the one you found) as they both operate on the same system, but reversed. So you can't have ESP on and TC off, its all or nothing.
I've been driving for the last 2 weeks without ESP/TCS/ABS due to a wheel sensor error...
PlusNet used to be market leaders, they then made a lot of their community active member base very angry indeed with their stupid downgrade fee's and numerous other ploys.
They are now paying the price for their backstabbing policies.
Thankfully i jumped ship as soon as i heard the word...
Well its booked into the dealer tomorrow morning to get my ABS fixed so hopefully as i know the bloke at the dealer he'll sort it for me.
Really want to keep it standard to be honest for a variety of reasons, but its puzzling why i can't get it working with seemingly the correct code.
Cheers.
Ridiculous though, you would have assumed they had 10-20 machines on test beds running for a week straight running intensive programs in order to test for heat issues and stability.
Must be some shite QA at MS.
Yeh then my car can rattle even more, and i can sound like a complete chav too :)
Or i would find someone with some helpful advice who can help me ease my headache :(
Right today kindly got me my radio 4 digit code, which incidentally concurrs with a code on some sticker in one of my books (not labelled as radio code, just thought it was a random number). On inputting this number i am still getting ERROR on my display, and basically as i've tried to enter it...
Car is booked in on friday for some diagnostic check on the ABS sensors, so hopefully dealer might be able to get it me - however i was under the impressions it was stamped on the paperwork somewhere?
Cheers though ;)
Hi folks,
Slight problem, The other day i disconnected my battery to reset my ECU, but in the process i forgot to ensure i had my radio code handy to reprogramme that once it was reconnected. The slip i had with a 4 digit code on turns out not to be the radio code, and on entering it i just...
Xenons seem to cut through the fog better than standards imo, also fog lights do help - but its only the 10 feet in front of you from my experience over the last few days.
Saw the willy with a sticker in the back window, was just doing some shopping at Morrisons tonight about 6:30.
I was in a silver 172 about 5 spaces away.
:)
My tips would be:
1. Make slow deliberate steering actions, turn the whell in a smooth manner. Sharp rapid directional change = loss of traction before hitting object.
2. Also ABS or not i firmly bleieve in engine braking, you can come to a complete stand-still without even touching your...

Right had this ABS fault for a few days now so i've decided to disconnect my battery - (negative) to try and reset the ECU and see if it re-registers this fault.
Just wondering the following:
1. How long should i leave it to reset my ECU ?
2. Will i need my radio code again?
3. Will my alarm...
On the left theres a poll regarding tyres: http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?t=102955
I hard Nankangs can suffer from shredding/bulging when they overheat. And personally on a car minus ABS/ESP i would prefer the best rubber i can afford, given they are the ONLY things keeping me...
My ABS light in my MK2 172 has been on for the last week, in fact its the ABS/SERV and ESP light which are lit. But as its all interconnected im guessing something is f00ked in one of my frontal ABS sensors.
Might try disconnecting my battery for a half hour and seeing if that resets the ECU...
You don't have this work done and expect the same fuel returns though, i bet realistically you can expect 26/30 average, with maybe 20mpg when gunning it. Just a guesstimate though...
Sounds excellent mate, but do be careful with this cold weather - the understeer you can get sometimes in the...
There was a V6 on eBay last week with a very similar selection of photographs which looked equally odd, that V6 was Cat D damaged and went el cheapo. Was just wondering if this was the same car.
Maybe some tyre black would help sort the funny look out, can't imagine they have different...
