They hold you in very nicely, and yes you sit very low when you lower the seat all way.
Thing is they always say that it feels faster when you sit closer to the floor, i.e Elise, a Go-Kart etc.....doesn't seem to work in the 197.;)
I am only playing but i'll await the barrage of 197 defensive...
I know mate! I actually live over Guildford way but im over Woking and Weybridge way quite a bit.
You should come along to the meets coming up...there is Westerham on the 29th then the Run to Brighton on May 6th.
Well just so you know, i got the EBC Greens off of Ebay on a Pay Now for £49 inc p+p and the Brembo HC's from GDI for £71, so you can easily get this setup for £120.
Obviously if you want braided lines then you'd pay more but i still stand by my view that they aren't vital.
Always pays to...
Well they got well and truly bedded in tonight. Took the Cup across from Woking to Weybridge with a few short dual carriage "chutes" along the way that were near enough deserted so i gave it beans and then threw the anchors out near enough as late as i'd dare.....
F**K ME!!! Nearly gave myself...
No 'mong' in particular actually.
As i said, im not overly keen on a rock hard pedal, and being a Cup, im pretty sure the likelyhood of me locking it up under hard braking is more of a possibility if it has barely any pedal travel.
Also the car won't be tracked so its not imperative.
Well i've heard they don't make a great deal of difference, so i didn't bother.
The standard lines are pretty beefed up anyway and i'm not overly keen on a rock hard brake pedal.
I've known engine RPM to be measured from the gearbox.....if you think about it, the imput shaft is rotating at Engine RPM.
But otherwise it can be coilpack measured, alternator measured or a flywheel pick up sensor.
They look fine to me buddy. The pads look like they have about 75% left!
Not much of a lip on the discs either as John said.
I've literally just finished changing mine and to be honest i prob had a fair bit left in the discs and about 2-3 k left on the pads but i wanted the upgrade.
Just finished doing the changeover and i have to say that was pretty darn easy to do.
Handy having all the tools and a proper lift ramp but even doing it on a driveway would be pretty straightforward.
Now just to bed them in....handy having a disused bit of industrial road near where i work...
As above, reg number R*04 XMX, parked outside the fireplace shop in Ripley, just round the corner from where i work, this morning at about 10 ish.
It got flyered but it looked pretty beat up so im guessing its not a members car....wheels were pretty curbed up and it looked a state inside!
Turini's are the easy, good looking wheel mod to do and suit nearly every colour type whereas the 2118's only really go with certain colours and the loss of an inch can put people off.
The 2118's are more of an acquired taste so no, i can't see them becoming the new 'must have' wheel.
Ahhh i fecking love those wheels! Im trying to persuade Steve (S22 JGS) to ditch his Ultraleggs and get some, but he ain't biting!
Looks lovely mate. Best colour i've seen them on is Racing blue but the white on black look is good....and it looks fine on the front to me...no need for...
Early 52's will need a cambelt in August and 53's will be the same next year provided they are under the mileage of course.
Mines a later 52 so its due in December.
The everywhere man again?!! ^^^
Anyway, going that low won't do your shocks much good and they will definitely be hard worked. You'll be lucky to get much more than 6 to 8 months more out of them, but hey you may be lucky.
If you do go for any type of drop get Eibach Sportlines. If its a 1.2...
Good choice that man. The Trophy is the car i wanna step up to next, but im more than happy with the Cup at the moment.....its starting to come into its own now its 'run in' at 34k!
A few recent mods have really transformed it and its now very much in a sweet spot.
New brakes this weekend and...
Unlucky mate. Its easily done.
It sounds like you've given it a good look over. Thing is with hittin a tow bar, the area you damage is fairly concentrated so shouldn't be much more than what you've already described.
Hope you manage to get it sorted.
It will be hunched more over its wheels Dan, so i'd not worry too much....it won't be H&R low but it will fill its arches better.
A good month to settle and then the tracking done and you'll be on to a winner.
Put a set on Rob22's 1.2 yesterday and he's loving it already....obvioulsy its worlds...
You numpty!
That jack looked like it originated from when cars were steam driven....i'd invest in a decent trolley jack if you HAVE to leave it sat on any jack.
Glad there is no serious damage though....to YOU or the car!
All these creaks and knocks are part and parcel of the Clio Sport front suspension....no matter if stuff is worn or not, there are always noises as the whole setup is so firm with minimum tolerances.
I've come to accept the noises mine makes, but the top mount noise definitely is curable.
Thing is Pro's barely alter the height and Sportlines give a bit of drop, but they are primarily a handling spring.
If you want looks over handling then yes, buy apex, but quite frankly you'll be swapping cracking handling for the lower look.
Eibachs are the best spring only suspension mod you...
Ahh you lot make me chuckle with the Cup banter.
I hope its no-one off here. Peperami posted on the South East Run thread at about 20 past midnight last night and he didn't mention anything so i doubt its him.
Aye! Twas me! I was out on a bit of an angry drive...the girlfriend split with me last night so that'll be why i torn past.....i literally only spotted your plate as i got level with you!
I passed you going past the ambulance station and then you passed me on the bit of dual carriageway going towards Weybridge and then i tooted you as you pulled off at the mini roundabout.
Was at about 8pm ish this eve.
