I'm after a set of these. Wondered where's best to buy them.
I've come across a few posts for group buys on these and discounts offered from some members.
Is there anything along these lines actually happening?
Remember some members mentioning they can get very cheap prices from their suppliers.
Thanks. I'll check the discs for pad deposits. But if there is I would have thought it would be easy ish to pick up.
He was aware the pads needed filing down for proper fitments so he did so.
Before buying anything new I'm going to pass all this info onto him and get him to check it all...
Will do George thanks mate.
I'm kinda hoping it is the discs that have warped, purely because it will be the cheapest way to a solution. Rather than having to get a new caliper if that is the case.
Thanks Chip, appreciate your comments.
I never touch my brakes personally so I'll hand it over to my mechanic. I will however check all four pads are evenly worn. Had a brief look at the outside ones on the day and they were but will now properly check all four.
Will also get him to check...
Cheers mate :)
So I'm assuming when they get hotter on track after a couple of laps they are so out of shape that something is rubbing the caliper? If not what else would cause the juddering etc.. I also take it that warped disc will cause uneven pad wear?
I'll probably just buy another set...
This. Plug your phone in, back it up. Wipe it. Plug the new phone in and restore from back up. Done. No fiddling around for no reason.
Did exactly this the other day.
I often get fade, and I think I might have warped discs now lol, but I'm not sure how I tell.
The only thing you have different to me is Yozza brake ducts. I've have taken out the fog lights and all the arch lining though, so there is plenty of direct airflow to around the brake area. Really...
Because they were expensive and I want to get use out of them lol. Keep saying maybe it's just me, I'll see how they get on the next time.
Plus I'm lazy!!
Think I'll give the Mintex a go next time. Heard good stuff about them. Will have a quick look at the price now.
Really.. hmmm ok thanks I'll bare that in mind. I did check them, but to see if they were lipped. Would I have not noticed if they were warped? Or if not me, at least my mechanic?? Or is it easy to miss?
On the last session on my last trackday my brakes felt really odd. Under high-ish load they were making the whole car really judder. At first I actually thought I had a flat tyre, that's what it felt like. It was really off putting.
So naturally I stopped and had a little inspection to see...
NIce. When you sprayed your inlets. Did you take it off or mask up around it not to overspill?
EDIT: Ignore that just read your post above. Seems like so much of a job taping everything up. Did you just do the bits the eye can see or completely under the inlet too? Don't want to do mine...
They look bloody awesome!!! What state were yours in before hand? Mine are quite a mess. Unsure whether I'd want to cut out all of the crap first or to just stick them over the un-even surface.
