the audi TT 225 1.8T or 1.8T 180 are slower than a 182. there quite heavy cars with the quattro.
Here are some specs..
Insurance Group 18 !
29.7 mpg
Kerb Weight 1515 kg
0 - 62 mph 6.9 seconds - (Man)
Maximum Speed 147 mph - (Man)
so very simular performance but two...
so why the hell have people on this forum lost thousands when purchasing new 172s and now swapped their 172 for a 182 which they will lose thousands on ???? there all so simular.. however 182cup can do 6.3 to 60 and the 172 does 7.1 not much diffo.
in what language is saving money a bad thing ?? fecks sake i used to argue that the cup was pointless and for cheapos as i owend the MKII172 but i was sooo wrong apart from looking massivley more sexy on the road 80kgs in an already lightweight car is a lot. the cup looked better with its colour...
^^ you cant end a debate because you hate the topic.
anyways i think both cars are nice. but my 2ps worth:
If you want more speed out of the 182 then tuning will be expensive. the best way i can see of gaining performance is to lighten the car.. in that light (no pun) the best thing is to...
cant belive you can be on this clio loving forum and totally insult someones car which in the grand scheme of things isnt hardly any different in price. apart from sh*t seats which are replaced if you have any sense with either Recaros or aftermarket Cobras for example what else is sh*t about...
couldnt agree more m8. There is a degree of snobery on this topic. i mean for FFS you can either get a DCI for 10k or a 182cup with recaros for 11.5k massively cheap price and better performance than fullfat 182.. and before people say yea but not noticble difference well... for one the idea of...
whats metalic paint option i.e is racing blue avaliable in metlaic and non metalic and whats the difference in looks ???? also does the cup come with cup spoiler and splitter ?
i thought civic type-rs had poor steering feel ?
also the comment about them not going wrong hmmm.. i absolutley hammered mine for 30k with no problems and i mean hammered !
172MKII not CTR btw
no faults.
id get a 182cup / cup / williams / integra-r / Audi RS2 ;)
is that the Ktec rollcage ?
and can you have rear seats but still have those harnesses attached to the the same place ?
hangon have you folded the rear seats down ?
how do you feel about renos new seats they are just about perfect as a compromise for both track/road and they dont effect insurance according to my insurer.
im probably sad i sit in my car every lunch time. I get an hour so i have a kip and read some mags get me away from the retards @ work and makes me feel at home more as i usually feel like im in some endless timewarped alien land compared to home when im @ work.
i mite add that my car is about...
didnt think they did a 100hp DCI for the MKII ??? if so then maybe 125hp possible out of a tuning box and plenty more torque than a 172.
still if i were you id wait just 5-6months and along with yer common or garden 1.2 / 1.4 s there will be a brand new clio out with all the latest kit +...
yea but im impressed none the less. For one they have harness points which i wouldnt get the seats without due to my future plans. Also recliners and they look nice, also gets rid of nasty rear seats in the 182Cup and hopefully a bit lighter than the standard seats although they are probably the...
^^^ Agree but you wont have to tell your insurance company if its a factory fit option. so get some like that but with harness holes and renault stiched in small lettters and in a prang you could probably get away with it.
il sneek this one from my gallery as im @ work now...

Hope this helps. If done properly not all the way down to bottom of bumper but exactly the same as renos design then they would look nice IMO...
my rear shockers have gone since i added the eibach prolines on the 172. never just do springs and dont add springs then shocks. my advise is to go for a full coilover setup or a same brand spring/shock setup that are designed to work in harmony with each other.
im gettin coilovers nxt time.
surley thats good enough to prove a point to most cars on the road. other than that i wouldnt want to be going round the twisties at that speed (actually i would but its impossible).
0-125 is where its at !
No xenons, no climate, no headlamp washers, two airbags removed, no leather, light rear bench is more than 20kgs. My 172MKII spaer + kit weighed 20kgs so i can forsee it being closer to 30kgs. The aftermarket recaros are the finishing touch in order to get a close to 172Cup weight without...
err how weird ! my car is an import (motorpoint) the other day i turned the climate on and i thought it was the hot air travelling under the seat and warming my ass but it heated up really quickly and it felt like the seat had been heated directly (i have a late 53reg MKII 172 import) could it...
just my experience with the 172 and eibachs. they have knackerd the rear dampers and the ride is terrible.. il never buy just springs again always get uprated dampers imo in order to keep the ride quality.
true its a tough place but most of the trouble is isolated and on the housing estates.. and no i dont smell of pickle you cheeky git LOL im knowhere near Hazelwoods :D
