I would say by and large the newer cars are more reliable. But they're bound to be - they're much newer, have generally covered a lot less miles, are better built (it's all relative I know, they're all bad but the newer one less so) bodywork much more corrosion resistant etc. BUT...

I got my exhaust as part of a group buy. His normal prices seem very reasonable. I reckon your looking at £290 - £310 for a cat back exhaust. You can have pretty much any tail pipe design you wish.

They're not the most of sedate cars to drive and do tramline and weave about a bit. Check your tyre pressures.

It's no better - but no worse for not having ABS.... You have to think how carefully you would drive on the ICE, then drive twice as careful again. Large contact area of tyre + very little weight + FWD = Eeeek!!
