how good is the vvt on the 172.. (Variable Valve timing...)
If you are so inclined - try this little exeriment and report back...
remove the plastic engine cover (four Torx bolts) screwdriver and torx bit is in the spare wheel tool kit....
at the cam end of the engine you will see a 2...
as an aside, on a N/A engine.. (normally aspirated) it is theoretically possible to allow quite large quantities of exhaust gas into the induction system to overcome the low pressure effects that the piston has to overcome.
this can improve efficiency overall.
I cannot see this translated...
Hi Lofty, there is the standard turbo, and also the pressure wave supercharger (A hybrid device)
a normal turbo uses the expansion of exhaust gases to drive a turbine, the other end of the turbine is connected to another turbine that compresses the incoming air.. there is no connection...
lol, I was taking more generic things, but since you asked...
could be the WTS (Water temp sensor)
this signals an enrichment to the ecu during warm up, problems with the sensor can cause the issue you describe.
there are 2 possible types of sensor - NTC or PTC (Negative temperature...
Hi Ben.. errrrrr, well... not a lot to report actually, a very quick test revealed nothing different really
it may be noticable with a dyno or on fuel consumption, but I am baffled.
I would be interested to know your findings.
I have not spent much time on this, but first result was...

How old are ya Sir ?
consider the forces.. the Royal Navy offers a SUPERB engineering apprenticeship.. the Artificer Rating..
or officer (technical)
thats one way..
I joined at 16.. (but it wasnt for me - ) - only lasted a year...

Nick,

here is a little vb prog I have just compiled.. it will caclulate the delay needed to hold off the coil -ve lift in microseconds.
Just put the rpm required and the r****d in degrees, the end result is the delay time in...

Hi Chun, there is a problem with the calibration on the rollers if the graph is that far out .
at least your peak power was at about the right rpm, but too low.
Ignore ANY figure at the flywheel - it is meaningless.
I would suggest that you go to another rolling road, I can recommend RE...
best advice is that your job and your hobbies should be different
just try to find something about 35-50k per year with loads of leave ...
then spend the rest of your time playing hobbies...
Seriously, I just sort of stumbled into careers.. never really planned anything.
if an...
theoretically the torque in foot pounds should = the bhp at 5250 rpm as
Horsepower = Torque (lb.-ft.) x RPM / 5250
so at 5250 horsepower=torque due to cancellation in the equation.
so, what is the torque figure and bhp figure at 5250 on yer graph. ?
what he SHOULD have done is run...
Hi Lofty..
My background hmmmmmm.. a mis-spent youth lol.. albeit that was 25 years ago
For the last 8 years I have been involved in IT - MCSE certified etc, at the moment I manage network security for the UK NHS. (prvate network with 1.2 million users)
Electronics, I became a radio...

what do ya mean by misfire Nick ?..
ps, yep, the anorak rush is great LOL...
where are you getting the unit from ??
I might just have to make that too lol.
might start with a bigger microprocessor so I can add the little features.
Joe.
a series of open threads re : - how does XYZ work ? - or what does abc do ? etc
if enough guys n gals would like to know more techy details.. I am sure there are enough people with knowledge here that could answer the queeries.
just a thought..
