Anyone else swopped cable and noticed a lighter clutch ?

Cheers edde will try cable . Had car from new so it aint had a hard life but does mostly town, stop start driving. This is when it becomes a pain mostly. thanks.

Prob gonna have a go and try and swap it, prob wish I hadn't when I start thou :D . 39k car has done so wouldn't think its a knackered clutch.

Read a few posts of heavy clutch problems on 172/182 's was wondering if changing the cable cures the problem, just wanted to know if anyone has done this and if it cures the problem. Is this a job you can do your self or is it one for the experts !? Anyone got any idea how much it shouuld cost...

Did ya get any pics of the mount you changed mate as I have the same problem ?

I've got hill power elbow on std airox with panel filter, never had any problems with fit or movement.

Not as shocked as me mate :eek: :eek: :eek: !!! unless me cam timing has altered a bit on me cambelt swap !! 14.8 atw up on last time and no octane booster ! ( you know who you are;) ) glad you saw graphs as no one will believe this.:D

Mine made 171.6 @ flywheel 151.3atw 153.5Ib/ft panel filter hill power induction elbow and NO mods since last time (only more miles !) well pleased :D Felt quicker goin home too ,must be the weight saving due to them dropping me engine cover bolt down the rollers!!

I had the same thing a few years back at same revs 4000rpm It did sound like it was behind dash or engine bay, reno had it in 3 times trying to sort it turned out it was exhaust baffles collapsing inside it. was a common problem on std exhausts they changed mine under warranty eventully ! !

Thanks for advice :D have used it last two days and has got a bit better .yes fan was working. do use it fairly regulary thru the year tho must just have lost gas will probly end up gettin it regassed thanx again for advice. it is cool now tho don't seem as good as it was .

got a complete 172 mk 2 engine mount with uprated bush and housing made by vibra technics for sale if anyone needs one see car parts for sale section want £40 . straight swap fits perfect. :)

you need a long swan neck spanner put the allen key thru it to sop the piston turnin when you undo the nut.
