I'd go for the Digital AV adapter personally. That does the sound also, but you get a HDMI output rather than just crappy composite.

The IB5 gearbox is sublime. Nothing you do to the clio's box will match it unfortunately.

Mk5 or 6? Handling wise the clio's piss all over the Mk6. It's a closer call with the Mk5. EDIT: Just read you put Mk5. Clio should still out handle the fiesta. Sounds like you've got issues.

It would but it's also not great for the gearboxes.

You're not alone on here. There are plenty of people with lots of cars who still own clio's and love them. Porkie is the perfect example of that, although that said, even his 'rarri gets abused on track.
