ahh, its not as simple as first though, you need to remove the engine mount, and its the metal bit that its mounted too! under that black cable conduit with the white wtripe!!
More than that i should think, depends if you get it done by a friend or garage, but i will want a few valves, headgasket set, fresh oil and filter, new coolant, new cambelt. plus the time to do it!
If the bottom turns and that doesnt im afraid so! to be 100 % sure i would get that cover ofF and take a look at the belt, or get a mate to do it if your not mechanicly minded, it will be as slack as a goats ear of snapped!
or as was said earlier, if your under the bonnet on the drivers side of the engine there is a black cover over the cambelt, held on with two 10mm bolts at the top, take them out and have a look under it!
yes! some of the valves will be bent, and the valves wont be working, if you go and open the filler cap, if you can see the cam inside, get someone to turn it over and have a look if it turns, if it doesnt make sure the bottom pulley, the one that the alternater belt is going to turns, so if the...
my gut feeling, i think the starter is just pushing the pistons up and down, under no stress so turns over a lot quicker! no compression in the cylinders.
it is expensive, valve damage is a definite! maybe head damage if your unlucky! it may seem like money for nothing but its worth it trust me! i have seen peoples looks when they pay £1300 to have there car repaired!:(
