Sounds like an excellent idea to me, though as Simon says, someone has to pay for it. It'll stop people having cars with invalid insurance due to mods, and would certainly speed things up if a claim was made.

They removed them from mid 2003 onwards in the last of the 172s. When they added Cruise Control they took out the autochanger for some reason.

As I posted in the other thread, I lost a ball on the 172 and they leaked on the 182.

I had them replaced on my 172 and 182. No worries for me on the Trophy now though.

It's a bumper off job which takes a couple of hours. It the ball pops out you can often get away with just buying a new stalk and swapping the ball, but if it leaks that's a replacement stalk needed.

I love my bi weekly dealership visits, but at least they don't cost me.:o

I'm really lucky. I got my 182 on 30% off Friends and Family, so 12 months old with 18500 on the clock it had lost £1k. My Trophy is still worth more than I paid for it!!! If I'd not got them both with a discount I'd be seriously out of pocket.
